A wireless monitoring device used for childcare and smoke detection is
disclosed. The
wireless monitoring device comprises a signal sensor, capable of detecting
data on
temperature and light changes and emitting the data via an infrared emitter; a
signal transceiver having an infrared receiver, a radio emitter, a camera
lens, and
a microphone so as to emit video data as well as data received from infrared
receiver out via the radio emitter; a monitoring device having a radio
receiver,
capable of playing radio signals received via monitor and speaker. As a
result,
the signal sensor can be placed on the monitored person and once there is any
incident involving the monitored person, the monitor will immediately send out
warning notifications to a caregiver in addition to displaying the monitored

Wireless monitoring device used for childcare and smoke detection
Field of the Invention
The present invention is related to a signal sensor, capable of being
positioned on a monitored person, and once there is any incident involving the
monitored person, a monitoring device can display the situation at any time as
well as send out a warning notification to a caregiver, thereby the safety and
health of the monitored person can be cared for while the caregiver can have
adequate rest.
Background of the Invention
Nowadays in society, there are many people who have impaired mobility as
well as children that need to be monitored. However, the number of caregivers
is insufficient compared to the people in need of care. Caregivers often need
to
continuously patrol multiple rooms, causing fatigue to the caregiver
himself/herself. Additionally, no caregiver can care for any person 24 hours a
day. Therefore, vendors have come out with some monitoring devices as shown
in FIG. l, referred to herein as a conventional monitoring device. As shown in
the figure, the monitoring device comprises a camera 1 and a monitor 2. The
camera 1 and the monitor 2 are installed in the room of the monitored person
and
that of the caregiver, respectively. Therefore, the caregiver only needs to
sit and
watch the monitor 2 to monitor the actions of the monitored person. Once any
incident occurs, the caregiver can then go to take care of the situation. As
shown
in FIG. 1, the child kicks off the blanket under camera 1. After the adult
watching the monitor 2 in another room notices such an incident, the adult
then
i

goes to properly tuck in the child.
It may seem that the monitoring device has solved most of the problems for
the caregiver. However, a potential problem still exists in that the caregiver
will
have to watch the monitor continuously, causing eye fatigue. The caregiver
also
cannot rest, and could possibly fall asleep while monitoring, and thus miss a
critical incident; thereby risking the health and safety of the monitored
person.
Summary of the Invention
In view of the disadvantages of the above-mentioned monitoring device, the
inventor overcomes the disadvantages and improves the conventional
monitoring device so as to invent a monitoring device used for childcare and
smoke detection. The present invention allows a signal sensor to be placed on
a monitored person. A monitoring device can display the situation at all
times,
and once there is any incident involving the monitored person, it can send out
warning notifications to the caregiver; thereby the safety and health of the
monitored person can be guaranteed, while the caregiver can have adequate
rest.
The main aspect of the present invention is to provide a monitoring device
used for childcare and smoke detection. The monitoring device allows a signal
sensor to be placed on a monitored person. The monitoring device can display
the situation at all times, and once there is any incident involving the
monitored
person, it can send out warning notifications to the caregiver, thereby the
safety
and health of the monitored person can be guaranteed, while the caregiver can

have adequate rest.
In order to achieve the above aspect, .the present invention is implemented by
having a signal sensor capable of detecting data on temperature and light
changes,
and emitting the data via an infrared emitter; a signal transceiver with an
infrared
receiver, a radio emitter, a camera lens, and a microphone capable of using
the
radio emitter to emit video data and data received by infrared receiver; a
monitoring device having a radio receiver capable of displaying data from the
radio signals received through a monitor and a speaker. The signal sensor can
be
placed on the monitored person. The monitoring device can display the
situation
at all times, and once any incident has occurred involving the monitored
person,
a warning notification can be sent to the caregiver; thereby, the safety and
health
of the monitored person can be guaranteed, while the caregiver can have
adequate rest.

Description of the ureferred embodiments
In order for the examiner to understand the object, characteristic and effect
of the present invention, the present invention is described in detail with
the

following embodiments as well the accompanying drawings.
Refer to FIGs. 2 and 3, which illustrate a 3-dimensional view of the
invention and a block diagram of the internal elements of the devices,
respectively. As shown in the figures, the monitoring device used for
childcare
and smoke detection comprises a signal sensor 3. The signal sensor 3 comprises
at least a heat sensor 31 (such as a heat-sensitive resistor), a light sensor
32 (such
as a light-sensitive resistor), and a battery 33. Through a comparator, the
signals
of the heat sensor 31 can be emitted via an infrared emitter 34. (The infrared
emitter 34 would not generate electromagnetic waves harmful to human body,
and thus can be worn as an accessory for a long time without problems.) A
signal
transceiver 4 comprises at least an infrared receiver 41 capable of receiving
the
signal sensor 3, a smoke detector 42, a camera lens 43, a microphone 44, and a
radio emitter 45 capable of emitting signals received by the infrared receiver
41
as well as data from camera lens 43 and microphone 44. A monitoring device 5
has a radio receiver 51 capable of receiving radio waves emitted by the signal
transceiver. Through infrared and smoke detection decoders 53 and 54, the
resulting information is presented via a monitor, such as an liquid crystal
display
(LCD) monitor, and a speaker 52.
Refer to FIGs. 4 and 5; which are the preferred embodiments of FIGs 1 and
2. As shown in the figures, the signal sensor 3 is positioned on a monitored
person. The monitored person is sleeping in a room installed with a signal
transceiver 4. When the monitored person is properly tucked in, the heat
sensor
31 starts updating the current temperature, and/or the light sensor 32 is used
to
detect the magnitude of the light. Once the monitored person kicks off the
4

blanket, the signal sensor 3 detects a temperature drop or an increase in
light, and
the infrared emitter 34 emits an infrared light signal to the infrared
receiver 41.
After it is encoded, the data is emitted out from the data input processing
end of
the radio emitter 45 via radio waves. During the operation of the smoke
detector
42, when gas or smoke concentrations exceed a prescribed value, a signal is
encoded and emitted out from the data input end of the radio emitter 45 via
radio
waves, as well as the signal transceiver 4 itself generating a sound of 80 db.
The
camera lens 43 and microphone 44 will also provide video data signals to the
data
input end of the radio emitter 45 simultaneously. The monitoring device 5
replays the radio signals received through a monitor, which can be an LCD
monitor and a speaker 52. When the caregiver hears the warning sound, he/she
can then properly tuck in the monitored person, or provide emergency
assistance
to the monitored person.
Additionally, a microphone 44 is positioned on the signal transceiver 4.
When the monitored person needs anything, he/she can let the caregiver know
immediately by using the microphone 44. Therefore, the caregiver can
responsively assist the monitored person. Additionally, in order to enhance
the
safety of the monitored person, the present invention also combines the smoke
detector 42. Once smoke is detected, a warning alarm different from other
alarms will be set off.
Through the structural design of the present invention, the signal sensor can
be placed on the monitored person. Once there is any incident involving the
monitored person, the monitoring device can display the situation, as well as
send a warning notification to the caregiver immediately. As a result, the
safety

and health of the monitored person can be guaranteed, while the caregiver can
have adequate rest.
While the present invention has been described above with reference to the
preferred
embodiments thereof, it can be understood by the person skilled in the art
that various
modifications or changes may be made without deviating from the scope and the
concept of the
present invention described in the accompanying claims.
