English Abstract

An extension tool comprises a shank body including a first end and a
second end, with the first end defining a working end, with the second end
forming a connecting end for insertion in the chuck of power tools, with a
shank
defined between the first and second ends. A sleeve rotatably disposed on the
shank of the shank body. Wherein the shank body connects to a power tool and
rotates therewith, the sleeve is steady for a user to be held and not rotate
with the
shank body.

Extension Tool
1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an extension tool.
2. Description of the Related Art

Referring to Taiwan Patent No.354003, a conventional bit A inserts in a
chuck C of an power wrench B, and the chuck C drives the bit A to turn.
Sometimes, for adapting to various sizes of bits, another quick-release chuck
would be installed.

However, when the drive shank 1 of the quick-release chuck is inserted
in the chuck C, there will be an angle between the drive shank 1 and the axle
of
the chuck C. While turning the drive shank 1, the drive shank 1 would have a
problem of swaying.

Summary of the Invention

It is, therefore, the purpose of this invention to provide an extension
tool including a shank body and a sleeve. The shank body includes a first end
and a second end, wherein the first end thereof forms a working end provided
for
connecting the tool. The second end of the shank body defines a connecting end
connecting to the power tool. A shank is formed between the first and second

ends of the shank body. The sleeve is rotatably disposed on the shank of the
shank body. While the shank body connects to a power tool and rotates with a
power tool, a user could hold the sleeve and the sleeve would not rotate with
the
shank body. So that the user could be safe to operate the extension tool with
a
power tool in a high rotating speed and prevent from getting hurt.

Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiment

Referring to Figs.1 and 2, an extension tool 100 in accordance with the
present invention includes a shank body 10 and a sleeve 20 rotatably installed
on
the shank body 10.

The shank body 10 includes a first end and a second end. The first end
forms a working end 11 provided for connecting to tools like a bit, and in
this
embodiment, the working end 11 is a quick-release adaptor. The second end of

the shank body 10 forms a connecting end 12 for insertion in the chuck of
power
tools.

A shank 13 is defined between the two ends of the shank body 10, and
the diameter of the shank 13 is smaller than the working end 11. A fixed
groove
131 formed on the shank 13 near the connecting end 12 is provided for
receiving
a fixed device 132. In the embodiment, the fixed device 132 is a C-clip.

The sleeve 20 rotatably installed on the shank 13 of the shank body 10
is provided for a user to hold. The sleeve 20 is tubular, with a center
passage 21
disposed on the shank 13 of the shank body 10.

The sleeve 20 includes a first end and a second end. The first end of
the sleeve 20 is retained with the working end 11 of the shank body 10, and
the

second end of the sleeve 20 abuts with the retaining device 132. And the
sleeve
20 is rotatably installs on the shank 13 and does not slide on the shank body
10.
Figs. 3 through 5 shows a user holds the sleeve 20 and Fig. 5 further

shows that a power tool connects to the shank body 10. When the power tool is
operating, the shank body 10 rotates with the power tool. However, the sleeve
20 does not adapt to rotate with the shank body 10. So that the user could be
safe to operate the extension tool with a power tool in a high rotating speed
and
prevent from getting hurt.

Referring to Figs. 6 and 7, the second embodiment of the present
invention, the shank body 10 includes a working end 14 which is a screwdriver
adaptor.

Referring to Figs. 8 and 9, the third embodiment of the present
invention, the shank body 10 includes a working end 15 which is a socket
adaptor.
Referring to Figs. 10 and 11, the fourth embodiment of the present

invention similar to the second embodiment, the shank body 10 further includes
a
connecting end 12' which provides for receiving a nozzle head of a power tool
Referring to Figs. 12 and 13, the fifth embodiment of the present

invention, a fixed groove 133 receives a retaining device 134 for setting the
working end 11 on the shank 13 and the connecting end 12' is formed on an end
of the shank body 10 opposite to the working end 11.
