English Abstract

In the process of installing windows, it is known that manpower is a
necessity to hold the horizontal extrusions in place while they are being
fastened into the vertical extrusions on large window structures. In this
invention, the "C" clamps secure the horizontal extrusions and allow the
operator to move the extrusions by turning a manual wheel, either pulling
the extrusions together or away from each other depending on which way
the wheel is turned.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Claims:
1. The "Windo Clamp" is a manually operated tool to eliminate 2-3 people
constructing extruded aluminum frames, this tool comprises of two
aluminum "C" clamp end plates on a sliding handle with an acme thread,
locking handles to hold extrusions in place, and a manual wheel that turns to
pull or push the aluminum extrusions together or away from each other.
2. The tool defined in Claim 1, is an aluminum device that assists an
operator in fastening the horizontal extrusions to the vertical extrusions
when installing window frames by manually clamping the device to the
extrusion using a toggle clamp.

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Section 3:
As per section 93(d) of the Patent Rules a description of the "Windo Clamp"
invention is required.
Specifications:
The "Windo Clamp" invention is a manually operable tool used for
assembling the aluminum extrusions on windows of all sizes. The purpose
of this invention is to eliminate the need of two or three individuals in the
process of fastening the horizontal and vertical aluminum extrusions to one
another, where the window is to be installed, see figure # 1. No device is
currently known of that can be used in such a matter as the "Windo Clamp",
therefore by developing our invention we can eliminate any difficulties that
may occur.
In the field of window assembly, manpower is the only way to assemble
windows and in turn creates many inefficiencies, that are both time
consuming and costly. The "Windo Clamp" invention was developed to
eliminate the problem of manpower and become an operator friendly device
that is both cost effective and time efficient.
"In my opinion the "Windo Clamp" invention overcomes any difficulties
and inefficiencies by having a fully constructed "C" clamp made from 1 inch
aluminum shown in figure # 2 with a telescoping square tube that moves as
required by turning a manual wheel, to pull or push two pieces of aluminum
together or away from each other with the effort of one individual.rather
than several. There are also two handles (toggle clamps) that clamp to the
aluminum for a secure hold so the operator can turn the manual wheel with
very little effort, shown in figure # 3. This is a safe and reliable way for
an
individual to become dependant on a device rather than other individuals.
Overall the "Windo Clamp" is appropriate for anyone to use but yet geared
towards a target group of glass/window assembly companies. This invention
will allow the target group to take advantage of such an easy to use and cost
effective way to assemble windows.
