English Abstract

This invention is a major improvement on the current vehicle mobile
advertising system.
There are few options currently been offered on the market from back-lit
printed plastic, magnetic
stickers, hub caps, and scrolling LEDs. These systems work well but they often
incur much higher
cost over long period of time, to update these older systems one will need to
reprint, re-install the
signage over and over again, producing wasted materials, time and energy.
Combining the usage of
latest digital signage technology we are able to eliminate this higher
incurred cost, and with LCD
screens they are proven to be more effective medium of communication.

To use this type of technology in the outdoor environment produced few
problems, 1. LCD
screens are sensitive to temperature changes, to solve this problem a
continuous ventilation system
with liquid bearing is added to the casing to provide cooling and ventilation
of humidity. Custom
made heating pads are added behind the screen for cold temperature operations
to prevent LCD
screen freeze ups. 2. Weather proofing the system against rain, snow and dust.
This problem was
solved using an ultra strong Aluminum casing to enclose the sensitive
electronics; with 6 mm of
tempered glass this creates a water proof environment inside the casing. 3. To
reduce the weight of
the system using Aluminum as constructive material. This has reduced the total
weight of the
working unit to 18 kg, which makes it safer and easier to be mounted on the
roof top of a vehicle.

The system itself is connected to a media player located inside the vehicle
through VGA
cable, the display system is not networked in any way, therefore reduces any
chance of interference
with vehicle's electronic system or GPS devices. Playback of the device is
through a compact flash
memory card, which can be updated quickly.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY
OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:

A roof top signage system comprise of:

1. Enclosed Aluminum weather proof casing with 6 mm of tempered glass opening.
With 6 pre
drilled holes for bolt or magnetic legs support.

2. Build in continuous ventilation system consists of opening in the casing
and a liquid bearing
cooling fan.

3. Heating pads mounted behind LCD screen for lower temperature operations.
4. Exterior emergency shut down switch.

Detailed description of the invention

This invention is designed for outdoor mobile advertising; it has many
advantages such as its
ability to operate in hot and cold temperatures in the outdoor environment. It
is able to with stand
all types of weather including rain and snow.

Material used for casing (Casing diagram - drawing 1), the housing of the
signage system is
made up of Aluminum to create a strong frame with reduced weight. Combined
with 6mm of
tempered glass the housing unit is weather proof for rain, dirt, dust. The
length of 21.4 inches will
accommodate a 22 inch wide screen monitor with perfect fit. The tempered glass
is attached to the
housing with industrial adhesive to strengthen its ability to withstand
extreme temperatures.
Electronic Components drawing 1 will show this invention can operate in harsh
temperatures where
other LCD devices will fail. This is due to the constant ventilation system
that is running
continuously and heating pad behind LCD monitors. The test temperature range
is from -40 to +30.

Measurements and dimension - The casing unit will have a length of 21.4
inches, width of
14.5 inches, and height of 11.77 inches. These measurements will accommodate a
22 inch wide
screen LCD screen.

The power is supplied through vehicle's battery system; the power consumption
in
operational stage will be 100 Watts total. The positive and negative cables
are connected to the
vehicle's battery terminal respectively to power up the inverter. And monitors
will be powered
through the inverter. There will be an extemal switch available outside the
housing unit to provide
the operator the ability to force shut down the system in case of emergency.
The casing can be
mounted through the roof of a vehicle through 6 pre drilled holes of either
nuts and bolts, or 6 RN80
magnetic legs (able to hold up 570 lb of weight).
