English Abstract

The Alpha One dog lead is uniquely designed, providing the user control not
offered by other
leashes. This added control occurs when the owner pulls back on the leash
which gently exerts
tension around the dog's girth. The tension created by this action is enough
to adjust the dog's
behaviour during times in which the dog may otherwise act out, thereby
becoming difficult to
manage. To provide greater freedom, the Alpha One lead can also be used as
other
conventional leashes.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

CLAIMS
The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive property or privilege
is claimed are
defined as follows:
- The lead design which is unique in that it wraps around the dog's girth
thereby gaining
control of the back end by creating tension on the dogs stomach when the user
pulls
back on the lead. While we have accomplished this using an O-ring, we lay
claim to any
similar method of accomplishing the same purpose using other materials or
devices.

ALPHA ONE DOG LEAD
SPECIFICATION
This invention relates to a dog lead.
While the Alpha One lead has many similarities to other standard leashes, it
is also very unique
in that it provides the owner control over the dogs back end by wrapping
around the dogs girth
from where it extends back (Diagram 1)
To accomplish this, the leash has been designed in two sections [Diagram 1
(Figures 1- 3 and 3 -
4)] which are joined by an 0-ring (Fig. 3). The lead is first fastened to the
dog's collar and then
extended along its back to the girth where it is loosely wrapped around the
dog's stomach and
pulled back through the O-ring (Diagram 3) which secures the lead in place.
This unique Alpha
One design allows the owner to then walk freely behind; confidently knowing he
has full control
of his dog.
To allow the dog greater freedom, the Alpha One can be used as a regular leash
by simply
omitting the loop (Diagram 2).
To accommodate for growth and small variations in size, we have made the leash
adjustable by
placing a buckle within the first section of the leash (Fig. 1-3).
The Alpha dog leash can be manufactured for various size dogs by adjusting the
size and weight
of the material from which it is constructed, 1" (1/2" small) nylon similar to
standard dog
leashes. The total leash length is approximately 70" (50").
