Article 19
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION
I, Gerald Biccum of 408-19 Lynnwood Dr., Brantford. Ontario, N3S 6S3 Canada.
Hereby declare the
invention, for which I pray a patent may be granted and the method by which it
is to be performed
and particularly described in the following statement:
It is my intention, as the inventor, to invent the only apparatus capable of
generating "Cold
STEAM" technology simply by dialing it. A new cleansing and sterilization
element by modifying a
manufacturer's current steam cleaning machine in flash evaporating water into
their diatomic
elements of Hydrogen (H2) and Oxygen (02). As such it cause the steams heat to
be quickly
converted into kinetic energy equivalent to 500 degrees F. which is ambient to
the touch or warm.
Powerful enough to destroy, air born germs, deadly pathogens and superbugs on
a molecular level,
100%. But future development of the invention may allow for vaporizing a
combination of other
types of seven Diatomic elements by merging them in a liquid state with water
equally in the
chambers. Forming a new type of sterilization process that of course would
have to be patented. A
combination of 7 elements could easily generate a million variations. The
seven diatomic elements of
the periodic table consists of: Hydrogen (H2), Nitrogen (N2), Oxygen (02),
Fluorine (F2), Chlorine
(C12), Bromine (Br2), Iodine (12) and Astatine (At2).
The apparatus relates to saturating a new all-in-one cleansing and
sterilization apparatus into
our society especially all-of-our medical and public facilities as possible to
get a handle on stopping
the current superbug outbreaks. It is also designed to improve on/or replacing
the current existing
single boiler steam technologies used in our food industries today.
This is accomplished by merging a variety of off-the-shelf high tech
components modifying
them slightly in order to fit inside a special apparatus allowing the
manufacturers to retain their
current patents, ULL and CSA approvals etc. for quick fabrication, of the
technology, which is
composed of a: multiple six chamber steam generator/evaporator component,
Super HEPA
filtration explosive proof vacuum system, Water purifier/distiller and other
components etc. As an
all-in-one cleansing and sterilization apparatus capable of destroying and
disposing a 100% of all
types of surface diseases, as well as antibiotic and microbial-resistant
infectious organisms
(superbugs) including air-born germs. It does this simply by cleansing and
sterilizing the air we
breath up to a 2,500 Sq. Ft. in moderately sealed rooms and a variety of
heat/sensitive and plain
surfaces regardless of material or size, at any given time on an industrial
scale. The facilities can be
large or small (Hospitals etc.). Including a variety of industries such as
agriculture, tourism, food and
mining to name a few. Other contaminants may include mold, mildew and dirt, as
well as pests such
as fleas and bedbugs, are also destroyed and removed.
My Indoor BICCSAN Apparatus pertains to Fig-1, which is designed to be an, all-
in-one
Antimicrobial Waterless Sterilization and Extraction technology or AWS-E.
Since its inception on
Feb 2011 and after a year plus of extensive efficacy testing (at major
agriculture University). It has to
date out-matched all the combined methods of sterilization with one machine
especially on heat
sensitive surfaces. Its current achievements is a log 8+ reduction on spores
and on up to 100% for
pathogens such as e-coli, listeria, c. difel etc. in just 20 seconds of
exposure using cold steam. A new

element I created by modifying the dials on the main component made functional
simply by dialing 3
on the 113-Apparatus. Achieving this kind of sterilization on heat sensitive
surfaces is unheard of in
the food industry, such as: meat/vegetables packaging, fruit boxing, plastics
and electronics etc.
regardless of material or size. It works simply by dialing the required steam
technology (1-
Standard, 2-Super-hot Dry Thick and 3-Cold Steam, 4-merges dials 2 & 3). It is
then controlled via
specific accessories directing the required steam to specific jobs or products
to be sterilized. Once the
operator sets the appropriate dial for a specific cleansing or sterilization
job. An appropriate
accessory is then attached designed to direct the required steam technology to
the surface sterilizing
it in a matter of minutes or into the air we breathe which takes about 20
minutes. Fig-2 is I of several
patented floor type of accessories purchased from manufactures specific for
dials 1 and 2. Dials 3
and 4 requires a unique type of accessories specific for cold steam uses
designed and patented by the
inventor, such as; heat sensitive surfaces, OR equipment, hand sterilization
etc. just to name a few.
These accessories are specific to cold steam (dials 3 & 4) identified as
being; a wand, wall/Floor
crawlers and window accessory types just to name a few. The following
components of the IB-
Apparatus consist of. cold steam generator/evaporator component, Fig-1 (1); An
all-in-one
Distiller Mechanism, Fig-1 (8 & 18); A HEPA filtration explosive proof vacuum
system having
12 removable biohazard bags, Fig-1(8); Top reservoir stores distilled water
for sterilization
purposes, Fig-1 (5); Bottom reservoir stores liquid Diatomic elements that can
be merged with
distilled water or used separately, Fig-1(6), is a standard floor spinner
accessory attachment, Fig-2 is
where the single knob control panel is situated designed to dial the required
steam technologies
which is hard coded in the apparatus itself.
1. DESCRIPTION OF THE MAIN COMPONENT, Fig-1(1)
The main component of the apparatus is a manufacturer's 6-chamber multiple
steam
generator/evaporator module. As such, this particular component inside the IB-
Apparatus has been
modified in accordance to the inventor's own specs so as not to upset the
manufacture's original
patents, CSA and other approvals. The modification consists of duplicating the
manufacturers
machine's control panel four (4) times prior to installing it into the IB-
Apparatus housing unit. These
permanent settings are specifically associated with a generating a variety of
steam technologies as
well as a new version, they are; 1st control panel standard steam, 2nd super-
hot dry thick steam,
3rd cold steam and 4th merges 2d and 3rd settings. These well hidden four
control panels inside the
IB-Apparatus are then connected to the inventor's 4 setting control knob set
outside the IB-
Apparatus Fig 1(1) allowing the operator to dial-1 for standard steam, dial-2
for super-hot dry
thick steam, dial-3 for cold Steam and Dial-4 merging dials 2 and 3. Once the
operator sets the
appropriate dial for a specific cleansing or sterilization job then an
appropriate accessory can be
connected.
The IB-Apparatus is designed to dial a variety of steam technologies for
specific jobs as an
all-in-one steam machine but the inventor has added a new element for
sterilization and that is Dial
3, Cold STEAM. The 3rd duplicated control panel hidden inside the IB-Apparatus
is permanently set
to generate cold steam similar to adjusting a furnaces thermostat to a
specific setting for one room
using other settings for other rooms etc. I, the inventor has adjusted the 3d
manufacturer's
duplicated control panel to generate cold steam. Therefore dial 3 on the
inventor's single knob
control system is set to generate cold steam while the other dials other types
of steam technologies.
The efficacy testing of Cold STEAM technology, at a major agriculture
university (Guelph), has
been academically proven that it can sterilize surfaces in the log 8+ range on
up to 100% in less then

seconds. After optimizing the cold steam technology even further it has become
highly successful,
100% reduction, in numerous applicable independent sterilization applications
not just for agriculture
and medical applications but mining, nursing homes and tourism to name a few,
even military germ
warfare can be stopped. The IB-Apparatus is an all-in-one steam technology
designed specifically to
sterilize a variety of standard and heat sensitive surfaces, regardless of
material or size such as those
in food packaging plants, large and small machinery, medical and public
facilities, circuit boards,
medical and OR equipment just to name a few.
However, the manufacturer's improved patent for the main component of the IB
Apparatus
could also be adapted creating a new bold version of cold-steam cleansing in
the 18000 F. range of
kinetic energy. After months of negotiating with the American manufacturer
they agreed to un-shelve
their idea and work with me (a Canadian) in utilizing all the capabilities of
their improved invention
as the main component or module for my new all-in-one steam generating
invention, called, "Indoor
BICCSAN Apparatus. Bringing back steam technology into our society as it once
was in the 1910s,
20s and 30s etc. Supporting a new type of industrial cleansing element, "Cold
STEAM" and
extraction technology. A steam machine, that has it all, dialing a variety of
current and any new
steam technologies with an all-one-one unit. Cold steam is a new element for
sterilization using
kinetic energy of highly charged diatomic IONs in the battle against stopping
the superbugs
including air born germ and pathogens in air we breathe as well as sterilizing
surfaces. The
manufacturer realized I could apply the full capabilities of their improved
invention in ways they
could never achieve. Hence the manufacturer agreed in writing to be the
supplier for the main
component of my Indoor BICCSAN Apparatus. Modifying their invention resulted
in a new stock
number (#6609-64A) specific to the IB Apparatus itself. The IB Apparatus is
designed with a new
type of control system, a single knob that has four settings merging the
manufacturer's existing main
control panel, Fig-1 (2) that has been duplicated 4 times for each dial
setting on the knob, two (2)
reservoirs that feeds into the manufacturer's main component, Fig-1 (5 & 6), a
HEPPA filtration
system Fig-1 (14), with an additional accessories out of 14, Fig-2 is used to
direct any of the dialed
settings for steam technology including dial 3 Cold Steam. Hence the
manufacturer has now realized
my IB-Apparatus invention could utilize their steam technology patents with
more applicability of
purpose. An invention that is highly efficient, effective with rapid
responsiveness than they could
ever imagine as an existing independent industrial steam
cleansing/sterilization and extraction
technology.
3. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
At the present time the problem of resistant strains of bacteria, which cannot
be destroyed by
common bactericides or the current steam technologies, is causing increasing
concern in hospitals.
These resistant strains breed rapidly on the floors and walls of the hospital
building and since they
are not destroyed by normal manual chemical (mod n Pail methodology) or
current steam cleaning
technologies they tend to spread through the building very rapidly after apply
these processes. The
resultant spread of secondary infection amongst the patients is a serious
problem and in order to
avoid it sometimes necessary to close operating theaters and other parts of
the building, which causes
considerable disturbance to the work of the hospital. To resolve this issue
and others like it I had to
relate to improving the current single boiler steam technology used in the
food industry with al all-in-
one steam machine that can dial any required steam technology plus my new
version, "Cold
STEAM" on an industrial scale never heard of before. Current single boiler
systems are not
particularly applicable for use in our large hospitals or other public
facilities on a large industrial

scale hence why I build the IB Apparatus to function industrially. Therefore
my Indoor BICCSAN
Apparatus invention relates to improving the current single boiler steam
machines with an all-in-one
industrial sterilization and extraction apparatus. Capable of dialing a
variety of steam
technologies and a new cleansing element "Cold STEAM" capable of destroying
100% of resistant
strains of bacteria and other surface germs for disposal via a new built in
explosive proof vacuum
system.
As such I invented my IB Apparatus by merging a variety of off-the-shelf
modern and up-to-
date components modifying them with my specs so as to fit inside an apparatus
the size of a hospital-
cleaning cart. The modifications are for fittings as well as making the
components work together, but
not enough to alter their original patents, CSA approvals and/or UL
registrations etc. for quick
manufacturing purposes.
