English Abstract

Patent Abstract
This Patent is for a smart LED Ambient and indication lighting System
implemented seamlessly into but not
limited, baseboards/trim/steps and ceilings using Smart LEDs. The system is
designed to perform the following:
1. Produce light for safety during emergency and non-emergency situations
regardless of location
(indoor/outdoor) using adjustable brightness depending on inputs from sensors
to signal Motion/ fire
alarm/or to dim up or down. Examples: hallways, exit doors surrounds, steps,
staircases, staircase
steps, handrails, fences, walls and ceilings.
2. Light is focused and clear in order to serve as a visual indication for
each step making it more pleasant
and helpful to children/elderly and the visually impaired.
3. Quick Swap System allows for dead or nonworking LED modules to be
replaced with minimal work
and access from only one side.

Claims

Note: Claims are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Claims
A modular ambient/Emergency, Non-Emergency LED Lighting System consisting of:
Replaceable addressable LED modules that can be interacted with using external
parameters
these can include but not limited to (Motion/Pressure/Smoke/Fire Sensors,
input from
computers, power loss.
Signaling Conditions: In normal operation the light LED system is displaying
an ambient lighting
when a condition is met such as Fire Alarm the LED system will switch to
designated color code
and sweep in a direction motion towards the closest exist. Another example
would be in a
hospital wing where a Code Blue exists some of the ambient lighting could
indicate it visually as
well.
Signaling Exists: The lighting if implemented into a baseboard the LED strip
would sweep in a
forward motion towards the exit. If the lighting system is on during power
loss it would be
connected to battery bank and serve as guide lighting.
Diffuser/Lightguide: that is implemented parallel to the LEDs and is
sandwiched between the
panels or the environment, effectively eliminating "hot spots" by acting as a
guide to ensure all
the light is brought to the surface and having a diffused edge to diffuse the
light and provide an
even light.
MCU: The MCU is what controls the Smart addressable LEDS and acts as the
central processor
to receive inputs and send the output to the LEDS to perform according to the
external factor
(Guide Light, Fire or ambient and so on)

Description

Note: Descriptions are shown in the official language in which they were submitted.

Description:
Modular Seamless LED Ambient and Signaling System can be explained by the
following.
The system always consists of 2 materials and a diffuser/lightguide sandwiched
in between with the
LEDS against the lightguide diffuser.
"3D View Broken Down.PNG" Shows the breakdown of the construction of a step
that would be
implemented into a staircase. Picture 1 shows a real-life mock-up with orange
lighting.
To implement this system baseboards, the Lightguide/diffuser would be
sandwiched between the wall
and the back of the baseboard and the light would be diffused and pointing
vertically.
