TRAINING PANTS
This invention refers to training pants, particularly pants that incorporate
elastic bands of different resistances, which allow the user to perform
training
sessions under a load increase in the legs of the user. In addition, the
training
pants allow training sessions to be performed avoiding distortion of the
natural
center of gravity or movement patterns of the user.
The training pants are comprised of a belt and adjustable heels to tighten
the elastic resistance and is characterized by the knee braces in which 4
loops
are integrated, each one placed at each of the superior and inferior ends of
the
posterior part of the knee braces, forming a bending angle at the back of the
knees and providing resistance at the moment of exercising the legs.
BACKGROUND
In the industry there are several types of exercise equipment and
systems that allow the increase of the resistance in the legs of the user. In
particular, there are devices such as "leg harnesses" for variable resistance,

which are well known because the load increases in the legs of the users.
However, these devices have not been satisfactorily tested for the training of

sports that require constant use of the feet such as taekwondo or karate.
1
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

As an example of these devices, the United States Design patent DES.
385,385 exhibits in its design and graphic representation, a set of elastics
incorporated into pants, where the elastics are incorporated in the pants
garment. However, this design patent, although it fits the legs of the user,
such
adjustment of the elastics in the legs is dependent on the tension exerted by
the
elastics that are continued in the torso part of the user, therefore to obtain
the
tension in the part of the inferior extremities (fragment of the elastics
incorporated into the training pants) it is necessary that there is tension in
the
superior part of the body of the user.
On the other hand, the U.S. Patent US 5,203,754 describes a variable
resistance exercise device with a harness, which allows the user to carry out
a
series of exercise cycles with an increase in load through resistances,
performing exercises with resistance, increasing the load of the legs of the
user,
to increase the muscular strength and the hardening of the legs. This device
includes a belt, leg accessories, and extendable cords for the belt and leg
and
accessories for the feet to provide an increase in resistance and without
distorting the natural muscular patterns that the exercise creates.
However, it presents as a disadvantage that the elastics do not conform
integrally to the legs of the user, distorting the natural center of gravity
of the
user due to the position of its elastics. Therefore, this device does not
cause the
necessary tension for exercising the legs, as the required in the practice of
taekwondo or karate.

CA 3005783 2018-05-24

Similarly, U.S. Patent US 6,179,760 B1 describes a device to assist the
leg muscles during cycling. This patent discloses technical elements that help

the user's legs in stretching during an upward stroke and helps the legs
contract
during a downward stroke to release the energy and help the legs to spin the
pedals during cycling.
Such device is employed to increase the performance of a rider by
increasing the performance of the rider's speed for a given cycling cycle.
The invention include features the disposition of one or more elastic
=
members applied to the cyclist's legs in such a way that these elastic members

stretch out in the downward stroke of the pedals to generate energy and in the

upward stroke of the pedals to release the energy to help the cyclist's legs
to
turn the pedals, and in turn, the sprocket.
However, there is no evidence in U.S. Patent US 6,179,760 B1 that the
devices arranged with elastics, irrespective of the purpose for which they are

used, have knee braces that help form the bending angle at the back of the
knees.

CA 3005783 2018-05-24

US Patent 5,308,305 discloses an apparatus for augmenting exercise of
body muscles comprising one or more articles of close-fitting apparel
employing
one or more removable elongated resistance members.
US Patent 6,179,760 B1 refers to a method and device including elastic
members worn on the legs such that the elastic members will stretch on the
downstroke of the pedals to generate energy and contract on the upstroke to
release the energy for assisting the legs to rotate the pedals, and in turn,
the
sprocket.
None of the devices described in the prior art documents described knee-
shaped means that allow the articulation to stimulate and form the angle of
flexion in the area of the knees, besides being specially designed for the
practice of taekwondo or karate.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
With the aim of overcoming the deficiencies of the current training
equipment and that its technical features correspond to the requirements of
the
practice of taekwondo and karate, the invention of interest aims to provide a
training pants to weigh down the legs of the user and increase the muscle
strength getting the legs to harden. With this increase in muscle strength and

hardening, the user will be allowed to develop greater technique in his legs,
4
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

improving his kicks, thus obtaining a greater prominence in most martial arts
such as taekwondo and karate, where it is required that the movement of the
legs is agile, fast and strong at the moment of contact.
One advantage of the training pants is that it consists of a belt and
adjustable heels to tighten its resistance bands. The training pants are also
characterized by the knee braces that help form the bending angle at the back
of the knees.
The resistance bands present different resistance forces ranging from
45N-90N depending on the user experience in the practice of taekwondo or
karate, which multiplied by the 4 bands that make up the training pants, the
resistance bands provide a total resistance of 180N-200N to 320-360N.
Through the resistance force in the legs of the user, the following kicking
techniques can be practiced:
i) kick ap
chagui: It is a linear and frontal technique, where through
the use of the training pants described in this invention, it improves
the elevation of the posterior leg with the knee flexed to the middle
part of the trunk. On the other hand, it improves the flexion in the
supporting leg and the foot at an angle of 45 to 55 degrees of the
attack line.
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

ii) kick bandal chagui: With the use of the training pants, this
semicircular technique is improved, starting from the combat
position, elevating the posterior leg with the knee flexed in front, at
the height of the trunk. It improves the bending of the base leg and
angle of the foot between 90 and 100 degrees of the attack line.
iii) kick dolyo chagui: It is a circular kick that starts from the combat
position. With the training pants, the elevation of the posterior leg
is improved with the knee flexed at the chest height and allows the
hip to rotate 90 degrees forward.
Also, as an embodiment of the invention, the training pants can be used
to practice high performance sports or to improve the physical condition,
specifically for weight loss through consumption or calorie burning.
The use of the training pants, allows the user to focus the muscular effort
and gain only in the desired muscle group, avoiding an oxygen and effort
expense in muscle groups that are not of the user's interest. Therefore, the
quality of the training is increased by focusing only on one muscular group
and
the physical condition of the user to optimize the competitive gain.
Another advantage of the training pants is the strengthening of the
primary and secondary muscles of the training area. It also increases or
6
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

decreases the tension in a short period of time by simply changing the
resistance bands.
The training pants aim to improve the neuromuscular response and
motor skills for the practice of sports that combine speed, agility and
strength,
such as taekwondo and karate. On the other hand, it improves the user's
coordination by allowing him to be more aware of his movement patterns.
In another embodiment and calibrating the resistances to a lower tension,
the training pants can be used for therapeutic and rehabilitation purposes.
Unless otherwise indicated, all technical and scientific features used
herein have the meaning commonly understood by any skilled person in the
field for which the invention is created. Methods and materials similar or
equivalent to those described in the specification can be used.
Throughout the detailed description and the claims, the word "comprises"
and its variants do not intend to exclude other technical features, additives,

components or steps. For those skilled in the art, other objects, advantages
and
characteristics of the invention will emerge partly from the description and
partly
from the practice of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In order to achieve all the aforementioned purposes and advantages, the
training pants comprise:
With reference to the drawings, training pants (1) shown in figure (1)
according to the invention.
The training pants (10) include resistance bands (21, 22, 21, 22') for
stable and removable fixation around the waist or middle section of a human
user of the training pants (10) and means for fixing them at their lower ends
on
their heels (40).
The resistance bands (21, 22, 21', 22') are fastened at their upper end to
the belt and at their lower end in the heels (40) passing through clips of
knee
braces (30).
9
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

The belt (11) defines an adjustable surface for the human being and has
a clasp-type buckle (12) that adjusts the belt depending on the size of the
human user (FIG. 5). Furthermore, the belt (11) includes a series of ring-
shaped
holes that are reinforced on the outer edge (12, 13, 12', 13).
The fact that the belt has more than one buckle will depend on the
tension of the resistance bands.
The belt in order to be able to fit the body of the user has at least one
buckle that comprises a female end (15) and a male end (14) harpoon-type or
the like that allows the two ends of the belt to be retained.
The ring elements (21, 22, 21', 22') allow the fastening of the resistance
bands (21, 22, 21-, 22') with the belt (11) through coupling points (211, 221,

211', 221') (FIG.5) located on the superior edge. The coupling points (211,
221,
211', 221') are inserted into the ring elements (21, 22, 21', 22') and thanks
to
the tension of the elastic, the separation with the belt of the resistance
bands is
avoided.
The belt is made of materials that do not damage the skin, using
materials such as cork, rubber, Neopren, with a thickness ranging from 0.5 mm
to 7 mm. In another possible embodiment, the closure can be double, and the
3.0
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

belt can be 5 cm and 10 cm in width depending on the strength of the
resistance bands.
In another possible embodiment, the pants can be made of elastane
which is held around the waist or middle section of a human user of the
training
pants (10) by means of the belt (11).
The training pants (20) have reinforced seams (50) on the front to
prevent the structure from alterations or ruptures. In the same way, the back
of
the training pants are sewn with double reinforcement (60) in the legs and
calf
channels.
The training pants (20) also comprise, polyester knee braces (30, 30')
placed around the knees which lead the tension bands along the legs of the
user. The material of the knee braces will preferably be made of, but not
limited
to, polyester and other synthetic materials.
The knee braces (30, 30') each have clips on the side edges, in particular
the knee brace (30) has two clips at their inferior ends (32, 34) and two
other
clips (31,33) at their superior ends , while the loop (30'), has two clips at
its
inferior ends (32', 34') and two at its superior ends (31', 33') through which
the
resistance bands are introduced (21, 22, 21', 22') and provide stable fixation
to
the training pants.
11
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

In order to facilitate the passage of resistance bands (21, 22, 21', 22')
through the lower (32, 34, 32', 34') and higher (31, 33, 31', 33') clips and
avoid
the risk of early breakage in life, the resistance bands are lined with a
synthetic
material or fabric which facilitates the transportation of the bands giving
them
greater care and longer duration.
On the other hand, the invention presents polyester heels (40, 40")
placed around the sides of the ankle. The heels will be made of a material
that
avoids skin rubbing and the production of wounds.
These heels (40, 40"), provide fastening means (41, 42, 41", 42) which
are connected to the inferior parts of the tension bands through coupling
points
(212, 222, 212", 222) located on their inferior edge.
The fastening means (41, 42, 41', 42') provided in the heels for fixing the
lower ends of the resistance bands (21, 22, 21', 22') in a possible embodiment

of the invention are buttonholes protected by a neoprene wall, in another
embodiment it may have hooks as a means of fastening to the heels.
The fastening means (41, 42, 41', 42') may have metal parts in the case
the pants are used for hobby or personal training, however in the case of
being
12
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

used for fighting or combat, in order to avoid injuries the heel will not have
any
metal parts.
The lower coupling points (212, 222, 212', 222') of the resistance bands
(21, 22, 21', 22') are introduced into the fastening means (41, 42, 41', 42')
of the
heel and thanks to the tension of the band, the separation with the knee
braces
of the resistance bands is avoided.
On the other hand, the heels (40, 40') have joint ends (44, 43) made with
Velcro 0 that adjust the lower part of the heel with the user's foot depending
on
the size of the human user.
The heel (40, 40') presents the advantage of being easily removable from
the foot and ankles of the user.
To achieve the tension in the training pants, the user must put the
training pants with the reinforced seams towards the frontal view.
Subsequently,
the user must proceed to place the belt at waist level and adjust the clasp-
type
buckle by stretching the male section to make the connection with the female
section of the buckle.
13
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

When attaching the female section with the male section of the clasp-
type buckle, a checking must be done to verify that the belt fits perfectly
with the
size of the human user.
Furthermore, the coupling points are then inserted into the ring elements
of the belt. It is necessary to ensure that the coupling points are fully
inserted to
allow proper training by the user.
Then, the resistance bands that are fastened to the belt are introduced,
through the fastening means of the knee braces and thanks to the tension of
the
resistance bands, avoiding the separation with the knee braces of the
resistance bands.
Finally, the inferior coupling points of the tension bands are inserted into
the fastening means located on the superior side of the heels.
The heels help to tighten the inferior ends of the bands.
With the union of all the distinguishing parts training pants are obtained
consisting of a belt and adjustable heels to tighten the resistance bands,
characterized by the knee braces that help in the formation of the bending
angle
on the back of the knees.
14
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

In addition, the training pants allow the performance of training sessions
avoiding the distortion of the natural center of gravity or the patterns of
movement of the user.
To achieve the right tension for each user, the experience of each user in
the sport to be practiced should be considered.
For a beginner user, elastic bands will be used with a resistance strength
of 45N to 50N which multiplied by 4 resistance bands gives a total resistance
of
180N to 200N, which increases depending on the exercise performed.
For an advanced user, elastic bands will be used with a resistance
strength of 60N to 70N which multiplied by 4 resistance bands gives a total
resistance of 240N to 280N, which increases depending on the exercise
performed.
For an expert user, elastic bands will be used with a resistance strength
of 80N to 90N which multiplied by 4 resistance bands gives a total resistance
of
320N to 360N, which increases depending on the exercise performed.
The knee braces are then placed on the training pants which help to form
the bending angle on the back of the knee.
CA 3005783 2018-05-24

Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well
as the manner of putting it into practice, it is noted that, within its
essentiality, it
may be implemented in other embodiments that differ in detail from that
indicated in the detailed description of the invention, and to which it will
also
