DESCRIPTION
Drilling Rig and Guide Rail Structure for Power Head Thereof
Technical field
The invention relates to the technical field of drilling machines, in
particular to a drilling machine and a power head guide rail structure of the
drilling machine. The present invention is based on a Chinese invention
patent application No. CN201710294450. X, filed on April 28, 2017.
Io
Background technology
Most guide rails used by the traditional drilling machines are of a
quadrilateral structure in cross section, wherein a power head bracket is
sleeved on the guide rail through a square hole arranged on the rail, a
wear-resistant sheet is arranged between the guide rail and the square hole of
the power head bracket, and the power head bracket can slide up and down
along the guide rail.
Due to the fact that the square hole of the power head bracket is closed,
the power head bracket can only be pushed into the guide rail from two ends
zo of the guide rail through special equipment and tools in assembly.
Date Recue/Date Received 2021-04-14

CA 03061169 2019-10-23
Requirements on assembly sites and equipment are high, assembly is
difficult, efficiency is low, and wear-resistant sheets are difficult to
replace
in the later period.
The square hole of the power head bracket and four matching surfaces
of the guide rail are influenced by the machining precision, and a certain
dimension error exists in the gap between the square hole and the guide rail
surface. If the friction force of the power head bracket on the guide rail
meets the design requirement, the wear-resistant sheet must be matched
according to different gaps each time, and therefore the time period is long
and the mode is not conducive to batch production.
Due to the fact that the square hole of the power head bracket is closed,
when the wear-resistant sheet is worn, the gap cannot be adjusted, which
leads to the result that the power head continuously shakes during working,
the guiding property and the directionality of the power head of the drilling
Is machine are poor, the drilling effect is finally influenced, and the
abrasion of
the drill rod and the righting mechanism of the drilling machine is
accelerated.

and rear sides of the adjusting block 4, strip-shaped holes 8 are formed in
the
front and rear side walls of the guide groove 3. The length direction of the
strip-shaped hole 8 is perpendicular to the axial direction of the guide rail
1,
and the length direction of the strip-shaped hole 8 is also perpendicular to
the direction of the surface of the right side wall of the adjusting block 4.
The adjusting block 4 is mounted in the guide groove 3 in a manner that a

cooperate with the guide groove 3 to clamp the guide rail 1. In addition,
wear-resistant sheets 5 are arranged between the left side of the guide groove
3 and the guide rail 1 and between the left side of the adjusting block 4 and
the guide rail 1.
9

CA 03061169 2019-10-23
The shape of the guide rail 1 is special, and the cross section of the
guide rail 1 can be a polygon with an even number of sides, a rhombus, a
circle, a hollow structure or a solid structure.
Referring to FIG. 2 and FIG 3, in the present embodiment, the cross
section of the guide rail 1 is a hollow regular hexagon, the included angle
between two adjacent sides of the guide rail 1 is 120 , two adjacent sides
form a V-shaped surface, the left side of the guide groove 3 and the left side

of the adjusting block 4 are both provided with V-shaped grooves 6, and the
included angle of the V-shaped grooves 6 is 120 . V-shaped grooves 6 on
the left side of the guide groove 3 and the left side of the adjusting block 4
are respectively matched with a pair of symmetrical V-shaped surfaces on
the guide rail 1, namely the pair of V-shaped surfaces form four sliding
guide positioning surfaces of the guide rail 1. The front side surface and the

rear side surface of the guide rail 1 are not in contact with the front side
wall
and the rear side wall of the guide groove 3, and wear-resistant sheets 5 are
arranged on both side walls of each V-shaped groove 6.
The second embodiment:
Referring to FIG 4 and FIG. 5, the present embodiment differs from the
first embodiment in that the guide rail 101 is rhombus in cross section, and
four sides form four sliding guide positioning surfaces of the guide rail 101.

CA 03061169 2019-10-23
However, neither the front side edge nor the rear side edge of the guide rail
101 is in contact with the front side wall or the rear side wall of the guide
groove 103. The V-shaped grooves 106 on the left side of the guide groove
103 and the left side of the adjusting block 104 are adapted to a pair of
symmetrical V-shaped surfaces on the guide rail 101. In the embodiment, the
guide rail 101 is of a hollow structure, and in order to reinforce the bearing

capacity of the guide rail 101, a reinforcing rib 121 is arranged in the guide

rail 101, and two sides of each reinforcing rib 121 are respectively connected

with the left side edge and the right side edge of the guide rail 101.
In addition, threaded holes 107 are formed in the front and rear sides of
the adjusting block 104, strip-shaped holes 108 are formed in the front and
rear side walls of the guide groove 103, and the length direction of the
strip-shaped hole 108 is perpendicular to the axial direction of the guide
rail
101.
In the assembling process of the power head bracket 102 and the guide
rail 101, the guide rail 101 is laid flat, the guide groove 103 provided with
two wear-resistant sheets 105 is sleeved on the guide rail 101 from the left
side, and the other two wear-resistant sheets 105 and the adjusting block 104
are placed on the right side of the guide groove 103. The fixing block 110 is
mounted on the power head bracket 102, and adjusting bolt 111 abuts against
11

CA 03061169 2019-10-23
the adjusting block 104. The friction force between the power head bracket
102 and the guide rail 101 is adjusted, and after appropriate parameters are
achieved, the adjusting block 104 and the power head bracket 102 are locked
by a locking screw 109, so that the assembly work is completed.
As can be seen, the guide rail structure of the embodiment is simple to
assemble, special equipment and tools are not needed, parts at the two ends
of the guide rail of the drilling machine bracket do not need to be
disassembled, and batch production and assembly are facilitated. When the
wear-resistant sheet 105 is worn after working for a period of time, the
Jo locking screw 109 can be loosened, the friction force between the power
head bracket 102 and the guide rail 101 is adjusted again, and similarly, the
wear-resistant sheet 105 can be conveniently replaced. Therefore, the
drilling precision of the drilling machine can be kept for a long time, the
abrasion of related parts is reduced, the coaxiality between the motion track
of the power head bracket 102 and the guide rail 101 is high, and the
condition that the power head shakes is prevented.
Although the present invention has been described in detail with
reference to the preferred embodiments, it is to be understood that the
present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments. It is
12

CA 03061169 2019-10-23
intended to be within the scope of the present invention as long as the
technical effects of the present invention are achieved by any one of the
same or similar means

structure provided by the invention does not need to specially disassemble
and assemble parts at two ends of the guide rail during assembly. The guide
to rail structure provided by the invention is simple to assemble and also
reduces requirements on assembly sites and equipment. An adjusting block
is detachably arranged so that the wear-resistant sheet can be conveniently
adjusted, and the friction force between the power head bracket and the
guide rail can be adjusted after the wear-resistant sheet is worn. In this
way,
the drilling precision of the drilling machine is kept for a long time, and
