ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A cover for a content-conveying object, such as an electronic device,
comprises
an interconnected rear plate, kickstand and cover plate. The kickstand is
pivotably connected to both the rear plate and cover plate and supports the
electronic device in an angled viewing position.
The cover plate further
comprises a plurality of pivotably connected tabs that pivot outward so as to
elevate the cover and electronic device above a supporting surface when the
electronic device is disposed in the viewing position. The tabs allow the
io electronic device to be used in an ergonomic position.

Title: Foldable Electronic Cover Stand/elevated stand
This present invention is related but not limited to the Technology industry.
Background
The invention is intended to support and / or elevate an electronic device,
more specifically but not limited to
Tablets, Laptops, Cell Phones and Surfaces off of a surface by means of a
cover. Conventionally, electronic
device covers are used to protect the device, as well as raise the screen up
to a viewable position on a set
surface, but not elevate the device therefore resulting in the device being in
an uncomfortable and not
ergonomically correct position. By focusing on supporting and elevating the
device, we are placing the device
in a more ergonomic position.
Summary of the invention
This invention seeks to provide a solution to the problem mentioned above by
providing a simple and effective
way to elevate the device off the surface (e.g. table) to a more ergonomically
correct position. This is done by
incorporating an elevated option to the device cover. This is done by using
hinged mechanisms to support and
raise up the device. There is a hinge positioned at the middle of the rear
cover, allowing the cover to extend
out as a kickstand. The next hinge is at the bottom of the kick stand,
essentially connecting the rear cover to
the front cover (the spine of the cover). The base/front cover contains hinge
mechanisms which fold to
balance the base of the device upon. This will raise the device to a more
ergonomically sound position.

How the invention works.
This invention is an electronic device cover which uses portions of the cover
and hinge mechanisms to create a
kickstand and base for a device. The cover has the ability to be used as a
normal kickstand and as an elevated
stand. This is done by, but not limited to, using hinge mechanisms.
As can be seen in FECS -DWG-001 & FECS -DWG-002 (FIG 1 and FIG 2) the cover
can be used in the
conventional way i.e just as a stand. This is the standard method that most
covers in the industry use to
support the device.
1. As per FECS -DWG-003
& FECS -DWG-004(FIG 3 & FIG 4) the cover is fully expanded and shows how
the cover and hinge mechanisms create the kickstand and base to elevate and
support the device.
a. There is a hinge
positioned at the middle of the rear cover, allowing the bottom half of the
rear cover to extend out as a kickstand.
CA 3067578 2020-01-13

b. The next hinge is at the bottom of the kick stand, essentially
connecting the rear cover to the
front cover (the spine of the cover). This hinge mechanisms allows a portion
of the front
cover to extend back (to be used in the conventional way).
c. The base of the front cover contains hinge mechanisms (4 hinges in this
illustration but not
limited to) which fold to balance the base of the device upon. This will raise
the device to a
more ergonomically sound position.
2.
a. FECS-DWG-005 (FIG 5)is a plan view of the cover completely
opened. This is a representation
and not limited to how the cover could be made to be able to make the stand
3. FECS-DWG-006, FECS-DWG-007, FECS-DWG-008, FECS-DWG-009 & FECS-DWG-010
(FIG 6, FIG 7, FIG
8, FIG 9 & FIG 10). Is another example of how the stand could be made.
This elevated stand is preferable but not limited to an Electronic Device.
This invention will allow users to
elevate and support a device / viewing surface, without having to carry around
an additional stand item. It will
also ensure the user is comfortable and more ergonomically positioned while
using the device / viewing
surface.
