The invention relates to a single serve capsule (10) for preparing a beverage with the aid of a beverage preparation machine, wherein: the single serve capsule (10) has a base element (12) with a cavity (20) for receiving a beverage raw material, and a capsule cover (33) closing the cavity (20); the base element (12) comprises a capsule bottom (22), a peripheral flange (26), and a capsule wall (14) extending from the capsule bottom (22) to the peripheral flange (26); the capsule cover (33) is fastened to the flange (26); the single serve capsule (10) has a feature (34), which in particular is optically detectable by a detector of the beverage preparation machine; the flange (26) has recesses (37) which represent the optically detectable feature (34).

L'invention concerne une capsule (10) servant à préparer une boisson à l'aide d'une machine de préparation de boissons, ladite capsule (10) comprenant un élément de base (12) pourvu d'une cavité (20) destinée à recevoir une matière première pour boisson et un opercule (33) de capsule fermant la cavité (20), l'élément de base (12) étant pourvu d'un fond (22) de capsule, d'une collerette périphérique (26) et d'une paroi (14) de capsule s'étendant à partir du fond (22) de la capsule jusqu'à la collerette périphérique (26), l'opercule (33) de la capsule étant fixé à la collerette (26), la capsule (10) présentant un signe distinctif (34) détectable optiquement en particulier par un détecteur de la machine de préparation de boissons. Selon l'invention, la collerette (26) comporte des évidements (37) qui représentent le signe distinctif (34) détectable optiquement.

PATENT CLAIMS
1 . A single serve capsule (10) for preparing a beverage with the aid of a
beverage preparation
machine, the single serve capsule (10) having a base element (12) with a
cavity (20) for
receiving a beverage raw material, and a capsule lid (33) which closes the

base element (12) comprising a capsule base (22), an encircling flange (26)
and a capsule
wall (14) which extends from the capsule base (22) to the encircling flange
(26); the capsule
lid (33) being fastened to the flange (26); the single serve capsule (10)
having in particular a
feature (34) which is optically detectable by a detector of the beverage

2. The single serve capsule (10) as claimed in one of the preceding claims,
wherein the flange
(26) has webs (38) between the clearances, said webs (38) extending in a

wherein the
clearances (37) are covered by the capsule lid (33).

capsule lid (33) on the side thereof facing the flange (26) has a different
color than the
flange (26) on the side thereof facing away from the capsule lid (33).
5. The single serve capsule (10) as claimed in one of the preceding claims,
wherein the
capsule lid (33), conjointly with the clearances (37), forms a relief-type
machine-readable
code, preferably a one-dimensional bit code or bar code.
6. The single serve capsule (10) as claimed in one of the preceding claims,
wherein the flange
(26) is configured in two parts, from a first flange region and a second
flange region, the first
flange region being configured integrally with the capsule wall (14) and the
capsule base
(22), and only the second flange region being provided with the clearances
(37).
7. The single serve capsule (10) as claimed in claim 6, wherein the second
flange region is
configured as a ring, the capsule lid (33) being fastened to the first flange
region, and the

second flange region, on a side facing away from the capsule lid (33), being
fastened to the

8. The single serve capsule (10) as claimed in claim 7, wherein clearances
(37) in the second

the first flange
region on the side thereof facing the second flange region has a different
color than the
second flange region on the side thereof facing away from the first flange
region.
10. The single serve capsule (10) as claimed in one of claims 7 to 9, wherein
the first flange
region, conjointly with the clearances (37), forms a relief-type machine-
readable code,
preferably a one-dimensional bit code or bar code.
11. The use of a single serve capsule (10) as claimed in one of the preceding
claims, for
