1 The present invention relates to an earring oryanizer.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
___~_ _

Most women have difficulty in keeping track of earring
pairs. Generally, earrings are simply placed in a jewellry box
or the like in a relatively disorganized fashion making it
awkward to retrieve a particular pair of earrings.
Accordingly, there is a need for an earring organizer in which

the earrings can be stored in pairs.

SUMMARY_OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

The present invention provides an earring organizer
for a pierced ear style earring of the normal variety having a
decorative body portion, and a stem extending from the body
portion and a keeper securable on the stem. The organizer of
the present invention comprises a screen and a frame for
supporting the screen. The screen has a mesh size allowing

fitting of the stem through and not the body portion the
screen. The screen then supports the earring by the earring
stem.

The above arrangement allows one to quickly and easily
fit earrings through the screen stored in pairs.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The above as well as other advantages and features of
the present invention will be described in greater detail

according to the preFerred embodiments of the present invention
in which;
Figure :l is a perspective view of an earring organizer
according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 2 is a sectional view showing the fitting of` an
earring to the earring organizer of Figure 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION ACCORDING TO THE PREFERRED
EMBODIMENTS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:
Figure 1 shows an earring organizer generally
indicated at 1. This earring organizer comprises a screen 3
supported by a frame. Screen 3 may be made from either a
standard wire or plastic window screen material. The frame
itself includes a first frame portion 5 bordering and edge
securing the screen 3. The frame further includes a second
frame portion generally indicated at 7 and comprising a pair of
cross legs 9 and 7. The first screen portion 5 is mounted
directly on and rotatable relative to the upper leg 9 of the
second frame portion. The first and second frame portions are
also separable from one another to break the frame down
allowing the organizer to quickly and easily be packed in a
suitcase or the like.

Screen 3 has a mesh size such that, as shown, a
standard pierced ear style earring can be fitted to the screen

by removing the keeper fitting the stem through the screen anr~
then replacing the keeper on the stem viewable through the open
mesh of the screen, with the decorative body portion and the
keeper trapped on opposing sides of the screen. This allows
different sets of earrings to be stored in pairs as shown in
Figure 1.

Another type of pierced earring is one in which the
s-tem is hooked and does not require a keeper. With this type

1 of pierced earring the stem fits through and hooks onto the
mesh.

As will be appreciated from the above, one is able to
not only quickly and easily load the earrings on the organizer
but also to find the earrings which are kept organized in pairs
on the organizer.

The earring organizer of the present invention
although being very simple from a construction standpoin-t is
extremely efficient and easy to use for the storing of earrings.

Although various preferred embodiments of the present
invention have been described in detail, it will be appreciated
by those skilled in the art that variations may be made without
departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the
appended claims.
