ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A collapsible saw-horse is disclosed, comprising a beam
and two frames extending side by side from the underside and
longitudinally of the beam, and each forming a pair of legs for
supporting the beam. Each frame consists of a single bent tubular
member defining two upright leg portions and an intermediate bight
portion at the lower end of the leg portions. The upper ends of the
leg portions are bent back and inserted within brackets secured to
the underside of the beam. One frame is rigidly secured to the
brackets by screws extending through the brackets to take a collapsed
position parallel to the first frame and an operative beam-supporting
position diverging from the first frame. A pair of pivoted toggle
arms link the two frames to prevent the pivotable frame from spreading
beyond a predetermined limit angle with respect to the fixed frame.

Revendications

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE
PROPERTY OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A saw-horse comprising a beam and first and second
frames, each defining a pair of legs for supporting said beam, the
two frames extending side by side from the underside of said beam
and longitudinally of the same, each frame consisting of a single
bent tubular member defining two upright leg portions and an inter-
mediate bight portion interconnecting the lower ends of the two
leg portions, said leg portions and bight portion extending in a
common plane and longitudinally of said beam, said two leg portions
having bent upper ends lying in said common plane and in axial
alignment, brackets secured to the underside of said beam near
both ends thereof and retaining said end portions of said first and
second frames in longitudinal alignment with said beam, the end
portions of said first frame being freely pivotable in said
brackets and the end portions of a the second frame being rigidly
secured to said brackets, said second frame making an obtuse angle
with said beam transversely of the latter, said first frame pivotable
in said brackets transversely of said beam between a first beam-
supporting position and a second storage position, said first
frame in said first position diverging from said second frame in a
direction away from said beam and in said second position extending
substantially parallel to said second frame, and means to prevent
said first frame from pivoting away from said second frame beyond
a predetermined limit angle.
2. A saw-horse as claimed in claim 1, wherein said
bight portion is straight.
3. A saw-horse as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bight
portion is bent upwardly to define a W-shaped frame with said
leg portions, The central part of said first and second W-shaped
frames being straight and in axial alignment with said end portions

of the respective frames, and additional brackets secured to the
underside of the central part of said beam and retaining said central
straight portions of said two frames.
4. A saw-horse as defined in claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein
each bracket is formed of a flat central portion and two outwardly-
upstanding curved flange portions, each bracket secured to the under-
side of said beam by volt means extending through said flat central
portion, each said curved flange portion encircling and retaining said
two frames and further including means extending through one of said
curved flange portions and said second frame to rigidly secured said
second frame to said brackets.

6.
The toggle arms 11 are pivotally 3ecurHd to each other
and to the aosoclated outer uprlght leg portions 3' and 4' of frames
3 and 4. There i~ a p3~ r of such toggle ar~s at each end o~ sQw~hor~3 1.
It w~ll be obvious that when framee 3 and 4 ar~ ~played
apart in use po~ition, 8 strong and rlgidly ~ecure structure io
obtained. To collapee saw-horse 1 into a s~orage or carrying con~lg-
uration, toggle arms 11 are o$~ply pivoted upwurdly and ~rame 4 pivoted
inwardly to u position substantially parallel ~ith frame 3, a8 ~hown
