ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
A preparation for surface application, the purpose of
which is to contrive electrical stimulation of the
metabolic processes of the epithelia, consisting of
an aqueous solution of extracts of animal tissues
previously subjected to treatment with low-frequency
alternating current, in two successive phases, the
first with square waves in order to give rise, by means
of partial electrolysis, to the formation of polypep-
tides, and the second with sinusoidal waves to give
rise to rectilinear groupings of molecules and cause
their electrical excitation.

The embodiments of the invention in which an exclusive
property or privilege is claimed are defined as follows:
1. A preparation for electrical stimulation of the
metabolic processes of the epithelia, characterized by an
aqueous solution of extracts of animal tissues previously
subjected to the action of a low-frequency alternating electric
current to effect the formation and electrical excitation
of protein clusters in the solution, the electric current being
applied to the solution in two successive stages, wherein,
in the first stage, square waves are generated which produce
partial electrolysis which splits the proteins into poly-
peptides, and, in the second stage, sine waves are generated
in order to effect the formation of protein clusters and
to electrically excite them.
2. A preparation as defined in claim 1, characterized
by the fact that the component substances in the solution
are those most suitable for the formation of protein clusters
similar to those of the epithelia, namely: extracts of
animal tissue selected from the group consisting of placenta,
embryo, collagen, humor vitreous, muscle, heart muscle,
total extracts of skin, bovine foetus, ovary extracts, con-
nective tissue, mammary glands, liver, brain and others
similar and equivalent to these.
3. A preparation as defined in claim 1, further compri-
sing amino acids selected from the group consisting of methio-
nine, glycine, cysteine, tryptophan, leucine, isoleucine
and linear and cyclic amino acids from C2 to C16.
4. A preparation as defined in claim 1, further compri-
sing vitamin A, C, D, E, H or K.
5. A preparation as defined in claim 1, further compri-
sing metal catalysts selected from the group consisting of
ions of zinc, magnesium and cobalt.
6. A preparation as defined in claim 1, wherein the
electric current is applied to the solution during each of
the two phases for a period of five days, at frequencies
progressively rising from 100 Hz to about 10,000 Hz, vari-
ations being both continuous and step-wise.

The various methods employed Por nouxish~ng, regenerating
or revitalizing the skin, based on the biochem$cal action
oP certain preparations, are ~ell knoun. Use is made, ~or
example, oE preparations having a basis oP collagen, pla-
centa extracts, vitamins and other substances.
Some results have been achieved in moist~rising, ~timula-
ting and oxygenising the skin, and in impro~ing its respi-
ration, but in actual Pact no result has hitherto been ob-
tained in regeneration and similar changes.
In making this original use of kno~n biophysical phenoma-
na, the invention here described does e~ectively improve
cellular metabolism as ~ill be explained here belo~.
It is kno~n that, ~hen resting, in a semisolid state, the
cell presents a degree oP internal cohesion such as pre-
vents it Erom being mobile and Prom multiplying.
To enable it to multiply, this cohesion mu t be des~oyed
thus determining proteic syntheses in which S-S disulphide
links become S-H sulphydril acti~e lin~s in the sulphur-
ized proteic molecules.
In order to transform the S-S links, uhich have energy
roughly e~ui~alent to 63 Kcal/mol, into S-H links vhich
reach about 87 ~cal/mol, enough energy must be supplied to
make up the di~ference, e.g. bet~een 63 and 87 rcal/mol.
It is also knoun that in a solution oP groups oP aminoacidQ
or polypeptides and electric or magnetic Pield sets up rec-
tilinear "aggregates" or polymerized molecules lying in
the direction of the electric ~ield and provoking an in-
crease in their electric moment.

According to this invention skin regeneration is achieved by
applying an electric ~ield to pro~ide the energy needed Por
transPormation of S-S links into S-H links.
The electric ~ield is created by means of an aqueous solu-
tion oP ex~r.acts. of animal. tissues; the solution is ~irst
subjected to an electr~cal treatment and then applied to the
sur~ace of the skin or mucous.
The solution is aqueous as this will not assist penetration
inside the skin.
Using low-Prequency alternating current the electrical treat
ment is carried out in t~o successive stages:
- the Pirst is given vith square ~aves and gives rise to par
tial electrolysis th~s splitting up the proteins into po-
lypeptides or groups o~ aminoacids; in this ~ay the groups
themselves, and therePore the aminoacids, are not split ~p.
- the second iQ given with sinusoidal wa~es to create the
so-called "clustersn~ namely the grouping o~ rectilinear
molecules, and also to excite them electrically (ionization)
by an increa~e in the electric moment oP the ~olecules them
selves.
The extracts o~ animal tissue are those most suitable for
the ~ormation o~ "proteic groupings~ the dimensionQ oP ~hich
are as close as possible to those o~ epithelium proteic
groupings such as: extract o~ placenta, o~ embryo, oP colla-
gen, o~ humor vitreouQ, o~ muscle, o~ heart muscle, total ex
tract of skin, oP bovine Poetus, of ovaries, o~ connecti~e
tissue, o~ the mammary glands, oE li~er or o~ the brain.
Addition to the tissue extracts iS made oP aminoacidQ, pre-
~erably o~ methionine, glycine, cystein, tryptoph~n, leucine,
isoleucine, linear and cyclic aminoacids Prom C2 to Ct6.

Vitamins such as A, C, D, E, H, ~ and catalysers such as
ions o~ zinc, magnesium, cobalt and other metals, are ad-
ded.
In a prePerred Porm oP execution, the square wave and sinu-
soidal wave electric Pields are applied to the solution Por
periods oP time oP about Pive day~ each.
A Pactor oP decisive importance in determining the ePPec-
tiveness oP the product is the sizing oP the "proteic grou~
ings" as the greater the number oP proteic groupings in the
solution that "correspond" to the proteic groupings oP the
epithelium, the greater will be the transmission of e~ec-
tric energy Prom the components oP the solution to the mole-
cules oP the epithelia.
The energy thus supplied to the molecules makes possible
the change Prom S_S groups to S-H groups breaking molecule
cohesion and activising proteic synthesis.
The results obtained by experiments on skin a~Eected by acne,
dry or a~phyxiated skin, on unhealthy skin conditions or
vhere there has been debilitation due to dust, dirt and Pog,
extremes oP tempe~ature, U.V.R. action etc. have conPirmed
the theoretical assumption~ described above.
Contrary to the ePPects secured by other treatments, in ad-
dition to better nourishment and protection, undëhiable
stimulation of proteic synthesis and cell proliPeration have
been noted clearly indicating a process of skin regenera-
tion.
Bene~icial ePPects have also been obtained on the scalp in-
cluding stimulation oP the roots and gro~th of ne~ hair, on
gum mucous and on Pemale genital organs.
All this has been achieved by means oP a "modus operandi~

entirely different from that used in application of any
other preparation~ Not the slightest use is in fact made
of the molecules in the substances for their cosmetic or
pharmalogical properties, but only the electric charge
that such substances possess.
An example of realization of the invention is given
below.
An aqueous solution was prepared containing about
5% of extracts of animal tissues composed as follows:
Each litre of solution contained:
15g of chicken embryo extract
2g of bovine heart muscle extract
lg of freeze-dried bovine placenta extract
lOg of bovine collagen in an aqueous solution at 4%
lS 5g of glycine
8g of methionine
5g of sodium glycero-phosphate
lg of vitamin C
3g of vitamin E
Anti-fermentation agents and preservatives
Thus prepared, the solutlon was subjected for five
days to a low-frequency, square-wave alternating electric
field.
The electric field was created by an electromagnetic
generator connected to the solution by two gold electrodes.
The intervals between one wave and the next were so regula-
ted as to cause splitting of the proteins to the stage of
formation of polypeptides.
~ Having terminated the first stage a sinusoidal-
; 30 wave alternating electric field was applied for another five
days to cause the molecules to form groups and to become
electrically excited.

During each oP the two stages, electric current ~as applied
at increasingly higher Prequencies, starting Prom abau~ 100 ~z
and reaching approximately 10,000 Hz.
The attached diagrams show an example oP an apparatus suit-
able for generating the electriC Pields.

To generate these electric Pields use ~as made of an appara-
tus like that shovn in Fig.1 placed in its container (11),
provided with a s~itch (12) to plug into the electric mains,
and with a pilot lamp (13).
The push button (1~) can be seen ~hich is used for changing
over Prom a square ~ave Pield to a sinusoidal ~ave field.
Xnobs (15) and (16) are respectively for adjusting Prequency
and tension.
The output ~ires (17) are connected to the various pairs of
electrodes placed in the vessels containing the solution.
In the diagram showing ~blocks" oP electronic circuits (Fig.2)
the transPormer (18) can be seen connected to the mains which
Peeds the sinus and square ~ave generator (19). From there
the signal passes to the signal attenuator (20) Erom ~here it
reaches the pairs oP output ~ires (21).
The solution thus treated vas applied uith a light massaging
movement to the Pace regularly morning and evéning.
Right Prom the first day the skin looked healthier and better
nourished, while a fe~ days later impro~ement ~as even more
evident ~ith clear signs of revitalizatio~n.
As the description of the invention is given as an examppe
only, in no way limiting it to this, it follo~s that every
equivalent application oP the inventive co~cepts here given

and every product made and/or used in accordance ~ith the
characteristics of the invention ~ill be considered as
co~ered by the Pield of protection accorded to this inven-
tion.
