ABSTRACT
The toilet seat cover is an article of personal hygiene for
people with certain restraints as far as the usage of toilets other
than their own, especially the ones in public washrooms are concerned.
In this invention, the toilet seat cover is made up of a rectangular
sheet of paper which is soft, absorbent, porous and light, making it
easy to be flushed down the toilet bowl. Strategically placed incisions
and perforations will enable it to be adjusted to the opening of the
toilet seat and to be maintained in position. After usage, the article
will be disposed in the same fashion as toilet paper is. This article
has also several other applications if and when a situation would dictate
their use for example toilet paper, cosmetic napkins, and tissues.

Revendications

THE EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE
PROPERTY OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A hygienic toilet seat cover comprising: a soft, absorbent,
porous, light, flushable, rectangular sheet of paper, delicately impregnated
with a disinfectant deodorant, said hygienic toilet seat cover folded in
the middle, provided with a central incision, perpendicular on the line
of the fold, then folded again along the first incision and provided at the
same time with another central incision, perpendicular on the first
incision and folded one last time transversally in the middle: said hygienic
toilet seat cover when unfolded being designed to be placed over the toilet
seat, to adapt automatically to any shape of toilet seat, to maintain itself
in the proper position and to be flushed down the toilet after being used.
2. A hygienic toilet seat cover comprising: a soft, absorbent,
porous, light, flushable, rectangular sheet of paper, delicately impregnated
with a disinfectant deodorant, said hygienic toilet seat cover being
folded transversally in the middle, provided with a central incision,
perpendicular on the line of the fold, continued with perforations along
the entire length of the paper, folded again along the first incision and
provided with another central incision, perpendicular on the first incision,
continued by perforations along the entire length of the paper, and
folded one last time transversally in the middle: said hygienic toilet
seat cover when unfolded being designed to be placed over toilet seat, to
adapt automatically to any shape of toilet seat, to maintain itself in the
proper position and to be flushed down the toilet after being used: said
hygienic toilet seat cover when unfolded and pulled apart along the
perforations, being designed to be used when and if desired as toilet
paper, cosmetic napkins, tissues etc.
3. A hygienic toilet seat cover as defined in Claims 1 and 2 in
which the paper after being folded is packaged in cardboard boxes which
are especially designed to enable the sheets to be used directly from
their package which is adaptable to any vertical surface when a horizontal
surface is not handy or available.

SPECIFICATION
This invention relates to a hygienic toilet seat cover. It is
common in articles such as these to find proposed solutions relating to
the covering of the toilet seat with all kinds of protective surfaces.
Some of these existing inventions suggest a roll of paper that
is applied one sheet at a time onto the toilet seat by all sorts of
mechanical devices. After the sheet has been used the same mechanical
device removes it. Inventions such as the one above tend to modify the
whole design of the toilet bowl and seat, are uncomfortable to use and
expensive to install. As a result, none are found in public use.
Other existing inventions suggest simpler methods of protectln~
the toilet seat. These methods include individual sheets of paper,
plastic sheets, paper bags, etc. with openings matching the opening Or
the toilet seat. Costly dispensers and disposals are necessary in
order to make them usable in public washrooms. Some of these inventions
assume that washrooms still have the inadequate hygienic and sanitary
conditions of the past and as such choose heavy, non-porous, impermeable,
reinforced and sometimes even plastic materials. All this makes them
difficult to produce and to be used. The sanitary conditions in today's
washrooms makes a lot of these inventions obsolete.
The rest, which might present some interest since they offer some-
thing which fills a long-felt need, are difficult to produce at a low
enough cost in order to make the venture commercially attractive.
All of the above difficulties, disadvantages an inconveniences of
existing proposals could be avoided by the introduction of a new type
of toilet seat cover which would satisfy certain needs resulting from
the following facts: even though most of today's washrooms are clean
and sterile, a lot of people are not interested or impressed by that fact
which is considered to be normal in this society. On the other hand,
more and more people are preoccupied by the toilet user precedln~ them,
placing that individual's personal hygiene in question or the risk-

factor involved in the possibility of contracting a disease, virus or bacteria.
Because the answers to these questions cannot be Icnown, people
use the toilet improperly and/or in total physical and psychological
discomfort in ruder to reduce all probable and improbable risk factors.
This invention offers people with reservations, such as the ones
outlined above, a chance to use any and all public toilets in a way that
is comfortable as well as acceptable to their own personal criteria
concerning hygiene.
With this in mind, the Hygienic Toilet Seat Cover offers protection
against the toilet seat and is made up of a rectangular sheet of paper,
40cm by 45cm, which is soft, absorbent, porous and light, delicately
impregnated with disinfectant deodorant. It is equipped with a vertical
incision or notch of 30cm down the center and with two other horizontal
incisions, 18cm each, running parallel and at equal distance from the
transversal axle of symmetry. All incisions are followed by perforations
on the entire area of the paper. Because of the fragility of the material,
these incisions and perforations are applied as the folding of the entire
sheet takes place during production. After folding, the paper is ready
to be packaged. The package is designed in a way that will enable it to
be placed on any horizontal surface or attached to any vertical surface
so as to make it handy so as to enable the sheets to be used directly
from the package. When used the paper will be unfolded and thus make
all the incisions visible and enable the whole sheet to be adjusted to
any opening and be maintained in position. After usage, the article
will be flushed down the toilet. If and when a situation might require
it, this article can be torn into six equal pieces by following and
progressively tearing along the perforations that are revealed as the
sheet is unfolded. The six smaller sheets can be used as: toilet paper,
cosmetic napkins, or tissues.
Some of the advantages of this invention in comparison with the

other known inventions in this class:
-Does not require any modifications in the design Or the toilet sea
and bowl.
-Does not require a dispenser or disposal in order to make it
workable.
-Uses the usual two-ply toilet paper which is soft, absorbent,
porous, light and flush able, making it a familiar article for consumers
The price of the production is competitive with the price of other
articles made of the same material, In order to be produced, it does not
require the designing of any new machines. It can be adapted to existing
machines. It can accommodate more than one function.

Paper 1 of Figure l-a of a rectangular shape, 400mm by 450mm, lo molded

opening box 6 is demonstrated in Figure 2-a. The lid ox the box it
provided with opening 7, adhesive surface 9, covered with a nonadhesive
cover 8. With the removal of cover 8, the box can be attached to all
vertical surfaces 10 by applying the part of the box with adhesive
surface 9 over opening 7 (Figure 2-b),
The true configuration of incisions 2, 4 is obtained through the
complete unfolding of paper 1 (Figure 3). When the paper is placed
over the toilet seat the incisions enable the paper to automatically
adapt to the opening of the toilet seat and at the same time the
incisions also help keep the paper in place figure 4).
Six equal pieces, 200mm by 150mm, 11 (Figure 5-b) are obtained
through the partial unfolding of the paper (Figure 5-a) and after the
perforations 3, 5 are torn along the incisions 2, 4, these pieces or
parts are able to sustain other functions such as: toilet paper,
cosmetic napkins or tissues.
