ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
The present invention provides a toilet paper
roll stacking member having a chute of a size for single
file stacking of a plurality of toilet paper rolls and a
stack support beneath the chute. The chute is provided
with a bottom located opening for removing the rolls one
by one through the opening with the chute and the stack
support being arranged to prevent inadvertent rolling of
the rolls out of the opening.

Revendications

Note : Les revendications sont présentées dans la langue officielle dans laquelle elles ont été soumises.

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE PROPERTY
OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. A toilet paper roll stacking member comprising a wire
like open frame chute having back and front wall forming members
spaced for single file stacking of a plurality of standard size
toilet paper rolls and a stack support beneath said chute, said
chute having a front opening spaced above said stack support by
an upstanding roll trapping member substantially beneath said
front wall member of said chute for preventing inadvertent
rolling of the rolls through said opening, said opening being of
a height greater than one of and less than two of the rolls.
2. A toilet paper roll stacking member as claimed in
Claim 1, including roller supporting means comprising hook-like
members formed by bending said wire-like frame beneath said
stack support.

Description

Note : Les descriptions sont présentées dans la langue officielle dans laquelle elles ont été soumises.

6~6
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
1 The present invention relates to a bathroom
accessory in the form of a toilet paper roll stacking
member for receiving a plurality of stacked toilet paper
rolls which are removed individually from the bottom of
the stack.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Most home owners are always concerned that they
have enough toilet paper on hand. Often an extra roll is
kept in the open on the back of the toile-t itself with
further extra rolls being stored in different hiding
places such as the bathroom cupboard. However, this
results in the problem that the supply of toilet paper may
be running low without knowing about it and only finding
out when it is too la-te.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
-
The present invention provides a toilet paper
roll stacking member comprising a chute of a size for
single file stacking of a plurality of toilet paper rolls
and a stack support beneath the chute. The chute itself
- is provided with a bottom located opening for removing the
lower most of the stacked rolls with the chute and the
stack support being arranged to prevent inadvertent
rolling of the rolls through the opening.

The s~acking member of the present invention is
1 preferably used as a wall moun~ed accessory having an open
frame construction for viewing the inside of ~he chute to
immediately determine how many extra rolls are available
and if a further supply o-F rolls is required.
~RIEF DISCUSSION OF THE DRAWING
The above as well as other advantages and
features of the present invention will be described in
greater detail according to the preferred embodiments of
the present invention in which;
Figure 1 is a front perspective view of a toilet
paper roll stacking member according to a preferred
embodiment of the present invention.
Figures 2 and 3 are side views of the toilet
paper roll stack member of Figure 1 when in use.
2û DETAILED DESCRIPTION ACCORDING TO THE PREFERRED
EMBODIMENTS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
_ _
The toilet paper roll stacking member generally
indicated at 1 as seen in Figure 1 is designed as an
attractive bathroom wall accessory for use in storing a
stacked supply of toilet paper rolls as seen in the
drawing. More particularly stacking member 1 includes a
vertically extending chute 3 which is dimensioned such
that the space between the front and back walls of the
chute provide single file stacking of a plurality of
standard sized toilet paper rolls. In this preferred form
of the invention the top of the chute is open at all times
which allows the rolls to be simply dropped in from above
the chute. Provided at the bot~om of the chute is a s~ack

-- 3
supporting tray 5 at generally right angles to the chute.
The rolls as they drop down onto tray 5 are removea when
required individually through the front opening 7 of the
stacking member. Here it should be noted that the wire or
wire like open -frame construction of the chute allows
complete visibili-ty at all times to de-terrnine how many
rolls remain within the chute and if a new supply of rolls
is required.
One of the key features of the present invention
is the relationship of the bottom support or tray 5
relative to opening 7 to ensure that the rolls do not
inadvertently roll out of the opening. To prevent this
problem support -tray 5 is provided with upstanding roll
trapping lip 9 located beneath the front wall of the chute
and preventing the lower most roll from rolling forwarr~ly
out through the opening.
In order to provide proper clearance for removal
of the roll from the stacking member the height of the
opening is greater than that of any one of the stacked
rolls by at least the height of lip 9 and is less than the
height of two of the rolls. In other words~ the size of
the opening between lip 9 and the lower edge 11 of the
front of the chute must be at least as great as and is
preferrably slightly greater than the circumference of a
standard roll of toilet paper.
Hanging down from the bottom of the stack support
5 are a pair of hooks 13. These hooks are used for
supporting a roller or bar onto which the roll of toilet
paper is mounted so that member 1 doubles for both storage
and dispensing of the toilet paper. However, it is to be
noted that the paper is not taken off any of the rolls
until they are moved down onto the hooks beneath the stack
support tray.

-- 4
In order to mount the stacking member, one can
1 either use a relatively permanent system such as wall
mounting screws or the like or the stacking member can be
secured in place by means of double sided sticky tabs or
the like. This later type of fastening means allows the
stacking member to be moved to different wall mounted
positions such as for example a relatively high position
out of the reach of young children with resetting at a
later time to a lower position after the children have
grown up.
Although various preferred embodiments of the
invention have been described herein in detail, it will be
appreciated by those skilled in the art that variations
may be made without departing from the spirit of the
invention or the scope of the appended claims.
