BACKGR~UND OF THE INVENTIO~I:
This invention concerns a multi-floor elevating
parking station, which can park a large number of cars in a
limited area of land.
Traditional ground parking lots have to leave a
comparatively broad space of drive-ways for cars to go in
and out there, and traditional multi-floor parking stations
have been constructed as permanent buildings which not only
take time in building but also are impossible to be moved to
another spot. Obviously, such parking lots and sta-tions
generally need a rather spacious area of land, and can
hardly be built in an irregular or long narrow area of land.
SUMMARY OF THE ~NVE~TION
.
According to the invention~ there is provided a
multi-floor elevating parking sta~ion comprising:
a parking frame and a stable frame, the parkin~
frame and the stable frame both being made of s~eel posts
and steel beams connected between two of the posts, the
stable frame being located beneath a ground surface and
containing the parking frame therein, and the parking
frame including steel floor plates which divide the parkîng
5 frame horizontally into a plurality of parking rooms,
two motor means provided at a top of the stable frame
which are operatively connected to wire ropes fixed to a
bottom of the parking frame for raising up and down the
parking frame in the stable Erame so that each floor plate
is selectively movable to a position even wi~h -the ground
surface for parking in and driving out of a car relative -to
the selected floor plate; and
pulley sets provided on the stable frame for guiding
the movement of the parking frame, each said pulley se-t

including
a cover having a vertical wall with a hole
therein, the vertical wall disposed relative to the parking
frame to have a facing side and a non-faci.ng side,
a T-shaped bolt having a leg which projects
horizontally through the hole in the vertical wall of the
cover and a cross member which is located on the facing side
of the vertical wall of the cover and which is vertically
disposed,
a nut which is received on a free end of the
leg of the T-shaped bolt and which is located adjacent the
non-facing side of the vertical wall of thecover,
two levers having proximal and distal ends,
respective the proximal enZs of the levers being attached to
a respective end of the cross member of the T-shaped bolt
such that the levers extend vertically and in opposite
directions,
a respective pivot means provided intermediate
the ends of each the lever such that horizontal movement of
the leg of the T-shaped bolt causes the distal ends of the
levers to move, and
a respective pulley located at each distal end
of the levers which engages the parking frame, the
engagement of the pulleys being adjusted by rotation of the
nut on the leg o~ the T-shaped bolt.

16 DETAI~ED DESCRIP~ION OF THE INVENTIO_
17 Figure 1 shows this multi floor ele~atin~ parking
18 station is constituted of a parking fra~e 1 and a stable
19 frame 2 as the main parts, said parking frame 1 being
contained inside said stable frame 2
21 lhe parking frame 1 is an oblong vertical frame mad~
22 up of steel pos-ts 11 and horizontal beams 16 connected
23 between two of said steel posts 11 at an equal distance,
24 divided horizontally wlth steel plates 12 into a plurali-
ty of ~loor~ or parking rooms, on wnich a car can be
26 parked separately mo~ing in the arrow direction in the
27 figures. There is a top steel plate 13 placed horizon-
28 tally at the top of the parking frame 1 and t~ lcwest

2 room without a steel plate of the parking frame l cannot
3 be used for parking; when the parki:ng frame l is raised
4 up to the highest position, said lowest room, impossible
to be raised up the ground surface, is still kept within
6 the stable frame 2 for maintaining the parking frame
7 straight up safety. ~he two side ho:rizon-tal beams 16
8 fac:ing opposite to each othex are provided ~eparately
9 with an inward recess 14 for two wire ropes 24 to pass
by up and down, One ends of said wire rope~ 24 ar~ fa~-
ll . tened at fas-tening holes 15 at the lowest beam 16. After
12 a car moves in any of' the floors, the right rear wheel
13 and the left front wheel can be separately hampered by
14 an anti-sliding bar 31 for preven-ting the car from sli~
ding away as shown in Figure 5.
16 Next, the stable frame 2lis also an oblong vertical
17 frame made up of steel posts 21 and horizontal ~teel :
18 beams 26 connected between said posts 21 at an equal dis-
19 tance, Motors 22 separately se-t on the top two sides
opposite to each other of said stable frame 2 co~bined
21 with reducing gears 23 can revolve shafts which wind up
22 and down wire ropes 26, one ends of said wlre ropes 24
2~ are fixed on said shafts and the others at the fastening
24 holes 15 so that the parking frame l can be raised up
and dow~ through the function of the wire rope~ wound on
26 the shafts rotated by ~aid reduction gears 2~ and said
27 motors 22. There are ~uffer springs 25 set at each bot-
28 tom corner of the stable f`rame 2 f'or receiving the palking

2 frame 1 when it moves down for preventing both the fra~e.
3 1 and 2 from vibra-tion causes by their direct mutual
4 touch.
In order to enable the parking .frame 1 to ri~e up
6 and down smoothly and steadily in~ide the stable frame 2,
7 pulley sets 4 are separa-tely provided at the inside sur-
8 face of the upper part of the stable frame 2 as shown in
9 ~igures 1 and 4. Said pulley set~ include two pulley~ 41
set separately at one ends of two levers 4, the other
11 ends of said levers 4 combined with a ~ shaped bolt 43,
12 said ~-shaped bolt 43 protruding out of the cover of the
13 pulley ~ets 4 and being screwed by a nut 44 at its end.
14 Said levers 4 are pivotally set at their position with
pivots 45 midway ~o -that in case the nut 45 i.~ sorewed
16 tightly against the ~-shaped bolt 43, the levers 4 moved
17 by the T-shaped bolt 4~ can force the pulley~ 41 to pu~h
18 against the vertical pGStS 11 of -the parking frame 1
19 maintai~ing the up or down movement of said frame 1

21 f~he an-ti-sllding device 3 as ~hown in Figure 5 is
22 used for preventing a car from movlng off the parked
23 position a~ter the car is parked on one of the floors.
24 Said anti-sliding device 3 comprises a cylinder 3 ~nd a
shaf-t 33 contained vertically in said cylinder 3 and
26 penetrating through the center of a ~table disc 34 hori-
27 zontally set in said cylindex 3, and a turning ~heel 35
28 and a gear wheel 36 separately fixed at the top end and
2 the bottom end of the shaft 33, said turning wheel 35
3 provi.ded wi-th a handle 37 w~ich can be made to stand up
4 for turning said wheel 35 or lie down sticking in one
of the notches 38 se-t around the top edge oP the cylinder
6 3 to prevent said wheel 35 from rotating further. 'l`he
.7 gear wneel 36 engages wi-th another gea-.r wheel 39 which
8 is welded toge-ther with the arlti-sliding bar 31 so that
9 said bar 31 can be turned for about 90 degrees crosswise
to a car wheel whén the gear wheel 39 is rotated by the
1]. turning wheel 35.
12 Next, Figures 2 arld ~ show a practical example of
13 this parking station using only one set of parking frame
14 1 and one set of the stable frame assembled together~
and when said par~ing frame 1 is pulled up to let one of
16 the steel plates 1 or the floors become even wi-th the
17 ground surface, the car parked on said plate 1 can be
18 driven out of the parking fra~e 1.
19 ~igure 6 shows a practical example of this parking
station using a plurality set of the parking frames 1 and
21 the stable frames continuously connected together and it
22 i8 easily:understood that both the frames 1 and 2 can be
23 constructed connecting in the lateral or the lengthwise
24 direction, and the empty spaces between the frames 2 are
only needed to fill in with concrete walls and the tops
26 are only needed to be covered with steel plates, In this
27 example each parking frame 1 is always contained and can
28 be lowered down to the bottom in the stable frame 2 and

2 then all of the -top plates 13 of -the parkiMg fr~mes 1
3 make up a drive-way for cars to park in or to drive out
4 of the s-tation. Only one of the parking frames 1 where
a car is -to be parked in or to be driven out should be
6 raised up to the level of the ground, and the car can be
7 parked therein with -the handles 37 of the anti-sliding
8 device 3 operated to stop the car wheels or driven out
9 there with said device 3 operated to make the anti-
sliding bars 31 to leave off the car wheels.
11 ~igure 8 shows this parking station is const:ructed
12 :in the traffic island, making use of' the narrow long
13 characteristic of` the land for solving the pa:rking pro-
14 blem.
Besides, ~igure 9 shows that this parking station
16 is constructed in a land of irregular shape for solving
17 the parking problem, too.
18 As this parking station is to be constructed under
19 the ground.as shown in Figure 7, a water pool 5 must be
provided at the bo-ttom for collecting rain falling there-

21 in and a water pu~p can be used to purnp out the water
22 collected in said pool 5. In case of a flood that the
2~ pump can not manage, the whole frame 1 can be raised up
24 lest the cars parked t:herein be flooded in.
In general, this parking station in accordance with
26 the present invention has~a main feature that no drive-
27 way is necessary ~or a car to drive in or out this sta-
28 tion, as the -top plates not only make up a drive~way but

2 serve for ca~s -to park, and a driver does not have -to
3 walk a far way for parking in or driving out. lherefore,
4 a piece of land can be utilized as most as possible in
parking cars if this parking station is used. ~he swift
6 movability of cars can be attained, and the steel frames
7 can be moved to other spot by taking to pieces without
8 breaking to change the use of the land.
