TUBULAR TOY OR/AND AMUSEMENT STRUCTURE
Abstract
A tubular toy is proposed which is made of transparent tubes arran-
ged in form of a roller coaster, the propulsion being made with a
little fan and along the tubes being propelled small vehicles con-
taining human figures the tubular toy could be made as complica-
ted as possible as far as concerning the tubular guideway;the
toy develops the sense of handling and space to children and even
adults.

TUBULAR TOY OR/AND AMUSEMENT STRUCTURE
The invention relates to a toy using tubes and ~neumatic ~ro-
~ulsion-this toy being in form of a roller coaster with tubes but
the structure could be used also for a real roller coaster if the
size ic an~rc~iate for accomodating human beings.
The existing systems use guides in form of rails and this is
determining the vehicles sometimes to derail. Also ,com~licated mecha-
nisms are necessary for elevating the vehicles again for doing the
roller coaster evolution. These are disadvantages making the systems
com~licated and unsafe.
The above disadvantages are eliminated by the ~resent invent~ion
by the fact that the toy com~rises:
-a trans~arent tubular guideway in form of a closed circuit
_whereby the tubular guideway has a tridimansional form made of
100~8, s~irals,straight areas-inclined or horizontal
_whereby the said tubular guideway has 2 o~en cut se~itubular areas
and a vent with means to adjust the air vented
-whereby the lenght of the o~en cut semitubular areas are as follows:
the first one (called the entering area) has a lenght of more than
three diameters of the tubular guideway and the second one(called
the air injection area) having a lenght of at least 2 diameters
of the tubular guideway
_whereby the said vent being ~laced at a distance of at least 15
diameters of the tubular guideway

- - 2~97240
-also the toy containing tube vehicles able to move inside of the
tubular guideway
-whereby the tube vehicles having antifriction means like rollers
: or felt/teflon collars
-whereby the sense of travelling of these tube vehicles being uni- -
directional
-whereby the succesion of the vent, entering area and airinjection
area being: vent, entering area, airinjection area and the direction
of travelling of the said tube vehicles being from vent to the
b airinjectiOn area, the area petween vent and entering area being
:~ called the braking area ~ ~ ~
-also the toy contains~ cess ~latforms ~laced on each side of the
~ entering area,these ~latform~ being mobile(haying the same s~eed as
i tube vehilces in the entering area or fixed ~ ~
/~ -also the toy contains: a sensing device to sense any ~rotruding
object out of the tube vehicles able to interfere with the tubu-
lar guideway
-whereby the sensing device is nlaced on the tubular guideway at
one end of the entering area
1 20 _also the toy contains: a mechanical driving system for the tube
~ vehicles, this driving system being a closed belt conveyor or chain
able to ~ositively drive the tube vehicles by friction between the
bottom of the tube vehicles and the rubber of the belt or by some
dog arrangement and chain
, 2~ -also the toy contains: a source of com~ressed air,being it a fan
~ or a coM~ressor ,a ~lenum chamber enlosing the airinjection area and
-I a manifold connecting the exit of the source of com~ressed air with
I the ~lenum chamber 2

- 209724~
-also the toy containing: human figures either real or made of ~lastic
able to stay inside of the said tube vehicles
~HE WAY of using the tubular toy is as follows:
The source of comnressed air is started, the air is as~ired from
atmos~here and injected in the ~lenum chamber ;at the begining we
have the whole area of entering, till the nlenum chamber filled
with tube vehicles, that is the tubular guideway is full in those
; areas with tube vehicles;also there are at least 2-3 tube vehicles
unstream the entering area-in these areas the tube vehicles be~g
10 bum~.~er to bumnerswhen the mech?~nical driving system is started,
the tube vehicles are moved in a forced way against the ~ressure
of the air source, then, immediately a tube vehicle is nas~ing the
~ ~lenum chamber area, it will be moved by the air sun~lied by the
¦ source;so the tube vehicles , one by one will be launched from the
¦ /~ area with mQchanical driving system and distributed along the
tubular guideway;but the unstream of the entering area is blocked
¦ by at least 2 tube vehicles,the air escaning through the vent;
~ the means to adjust the vented air are adusted so that to have
¦ some over nressure in the u~stream area of the entering area so
2~that the tube vehicles to be nressed bumner to bum~er in the entering
area and also to be ke~t moving at slow s~eed(the s~eed of the
mechanical driving system);when a tube vehicle is coming with high
, sPeed ,this will enter in the braking area , will brake and then
i will come in a bumner to bumner ~osition with the bumner to bumner
~ ~Sstring of tube vehicles moving slowly towards the air injection area

inside of the tube vehicles are the human figures made o~ ~lastic
or real, they being introduced into the tube vehicles via the access
~latforms, also when the travel is considered finished then the human
figures are getting out also via the access ~latforms
~The invention is develo~ing the sense of space and han~ling ability
for children and even adults.
Below is given an examnle of illustrating the invention in connec-
tion with Fig l and Fig 2 re~resenting:
