A blend mixture of organic composition for topical application to wood, ceramic, metal, kitchen
ventilator or other hard surface articles serves as a disinfectant, germicide, fungicide, insecticide,
deodorant, degreaser, lubricant while maintaining excellent gloss and superior protection against
oxidation and sunlight damage in a one-step application is described. The liquid composition is
topically applied to wood or other articles by means of a dry fine wiping cloth, a dry napkin or a
dry sponge or the like. The composition comprises about, a) 5-20% by weight mineral oil, b)
30-70% by weight D'limonene, c) 5-20% by weight pine oil, d) 0-5% by weight mixed surfactants,
and e) 1-10% by weight co-solvent.

Revendications

The Embodiments of the Invention in which an exclusive property or privilege is claimed
are defined as follows:
1. An organic composition useful as disinfectant, germicide, fungicide, insecticide,
deodorant, degreaser, lubricant and polish for wood funiture, kitchen's ventilation hood, ceramic
tile, metal surface and dry wall.
2. The new and improved composition of claim 1 comprising, by weight of the total
composition of:
a) 10 to 80% of blend of oils selected from the class consisting of mineral oil and other essential
oils,
b) 1 to 10% of co-solvent, and
c) 1 to 5% of surfactants.
3. The composition of claim 2 containing in addition to said oil, D'limonene in an amount up
to 70% by weight of said composition.
4. The composition of claim 2 containing in addition to said oil, D'limonene in an amount up
to 60% by weight of said composition.
5. The composition of claim 2 containing in addition to said oil, pine oil in an amount up to
20% by weight of said composition.

Lubricating and Cleaning the Wood Furniture"
Background of the Invention
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to Gompositions for protecting, poli~hing,
disinfecting, degreasing, deodorizing, lubricating and cleaning various articles such as wood
5 furniture, metal surface, kitchen ventilator, ceramic surface and dry wall surface.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Wood furniture polish compositions are well known. Such compositions comprise shellac,
lacquers, varnish and wax emulsion. The latter usually consist of blends of mineral, vegetable,
silicone and/or ç~çnti~l oils, waxes and small amount of water. While these wax emulsions are
o easy to apply, they tend to leave a greasy film and they do not provide much protection against
sl-nli~t, moisture, insects, fungi, germ and mould.
It is desirable for a furniture polish to aid in rJe~ning and protecting the furniture from
insect invasion, fungi attack mould formation, moisture, odoring, severe oil stain, finger marking,
crayon m~rking, food and drink stains and other surface deposits.
5 Summary of the Invention
To achieve the foregoing and other adv~nt~ges~ the present invention, briefly described, provides
an organic based composition for topical application to wood or other articles so as to serve as a

cleaner, degreaser, disinfectant, deodorant, lubricant, polish and protective finish. The
composition comprises mineral oil dispersed in mixture of dipentene (also known as D'limonene),
terpene alcohols and terpineol (also known as pine oil) and the ext~nller, preferably, isoplopallol
and relaLively small amounts of additives in~ fling blend mixture of sl-rf~ct~nt~ and so on. The
5 said organic composition is topically applied to wood or other articles by means of a fine wiping
cloth or a dry clean napkin. Little buffing is required for better glossiness. Once applied, the
composition imparts a non-greasy, rich luster to the surface of an article (e.g. wood rullfilule).
The above brief description sets forth rather broadly the more important realules of the present
invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and
0 in order that the present collLlil.ulions to the art may be better appreciated. There are, of course,
additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter and will form the subject
matter of the claims appended hereto.
In this respect, before explaining the pr~rell~d embodiments of the invention in detail, it is to be
understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of the construction and

capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is

Further, the purpose of the foregoing Abstract is to enable the Canadian Intellectual Property

cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application.
Accordingly, the Abstract is neither intlo.n~led to define the invention or the application, which only
is measured by the claims, nor is it intenlled to be limiting as to the scope of the invention in any
way.
0 It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and hnpiov~d composition for
protecting, polishing, disinfecting, degreasing, deodorizing, lubricating and cleaning the surface of
various articles and which has all of the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadv~nt~ges.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a new and improved composition for
protecting, polishing, dish~ g, degreasing, deodorizing, lubricating and cle~ning the surface of
5 various articles which may be Pfficiently m~nllf~chlred and marketed.
An even further object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved composition for
protecting, polishing, dish~e-iLing, degreasing, deodorizing, lubricating and cleaning the surface of
various articles which is susceptible of a low cost of m~nllf~ctllre with regard to both materials
and labor, and which accordingly is then susceptible of low prices of sale to the con~. ~.n;n~ public,
20 thereby making such composition available to the buying public.
Still yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a new and improved composition
for protecting, polishing, disil~e~ g, degreasing, deodorizing, lubricating and cleaning the

surface of various articles and which is adapted to be topically applied to such articles in a
colourless thin liquid, easily sprayable form.
It is still a further object of the present invention to provide a new and improved composition that
may be topically applied to various articles to add a non-greasy, rich luster to same.
5 These together with still other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty which
characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims forming a part of this
disclosure. For a better unde~ of the invention, its opel~Ling advantages and the specific objects
a~ ned by its uses, ler~l~nce should be made to the following detailed description of the pler~lled
embodiments of the invention.
0 Description of the 1~ ~fc~ Embodiment
The new and illlproved composition of the present invention comprises a mineral oil dispersed in
D'limonene and pine oil to produce a ll~1spalell~ oily liquid, easily applied and spreadable phase.
The component comprises mineral oil dispersed in the mixture of D'limonene and pine oil with
mineral oil being present in the said mixture in an amount by weight up to about 20%, with about
5 10% being mostly prt;rellc;d. The D'limonene present in the said mixture in an amount by weight
up to about 70%, with about 60% being mostly pr~relled. The pine oil present in the said mixture
in an amount by weight up to about 30%, with about 25 % being mostly plt;rell~d. The
component also comprises mixture of surface active agents in an amount by weight up to 3%. A
mostly plerelled composition comprises a mixture of 10% mineral oil, 60% D'limonene, 25%
20 pine oil, 3% surface active agents and 2% isopropallol by weight.

The foregoing liquid phase composition is easily be stored in PVC bottle or can and simply may
be applied to the surface of an article being treated by spraying and then spreading with a lint-free
soft absorbent cloth, dry clean napkin, dry sponge or the l~ke The composition may also be
applied by wiping or brushing with a cloth, napkin or sponge. The pr~relled method of
5 application is by aerosol spray. The general practice for applying this composition is to hold the
colllailler in an upright position, and then spraying the composition onto the surface from a
distance of apl)loxilllalely 16 c~ rs (about 6.5 inches). The surface is wiped with a clean
soft absorbent cloth after 20 seconds. The surface may be buffed additionally to the desired shine.
Alternately, the spray may be directed to a soft absorbent cloth and the thus treated cloth wiped
o onto the surface to be cleaned and polished. When so applied, the composition deposits a
protective long wearing ~l~lsp~ film on the surface of the article, the liquid composition also
functions as a cleaner, disinfectant, lubricant, deodorant, polish, germicide, fungicide and
degreaser. Hence, the composition of the invention is ideally suited as a finish to be applied to
wood furniture, Calbillt;lS, kitchen ventilators, l~"~ ted table tops, ceramic tiles and so on. The
5 composition of the invention removes dust, stains, adhesive glue, grime and crayon m~rkin~ and
leaves a non-greasy, rich luster to the treated surface. The composition may also be applied to
metallic articles as a cleaner, polish, lubricant and rust preventative.
In addition to those already described above, additional ingredients optionally may be added to
the composition of the invention. For example, if a particular cleaning power for cleaning the dry
20 wall without demolishing the paint is desired, water may be added in an amount up to 50% by
weight.

of dry wall or leather by a cloth imp&llillg a rich luster to the dry wall or leather and leaving a
protective film.

connection with what is pleselllly deemed to be the most practical and pr~relled example(s) of the
invention, it will be appalellL to those of oldillaly skill in the art that many modifications thereof
may be made without departing from the principles and concepts set forth herein. Hence, the
proper scope of the present invention should be determined only by the broadest intel ~ ion of
the appended claims so as to encolllpass all such modifications.
