plurality of spacers 18 disposed thereon for elevating the toilet seat
12 above the toilet bowl. A hinge bar 20 is secured to the rear
portion of the toilet seat I2 and spans the space 16. The hinge bar
2O has a pair of brackets 22 extending outwardly therefrom for
securement to the toilet bowl.
A toilet lid 24 is provided. The toilet lid 24 is dimensioned
for covering the toilet seat 12. A rear edge of the toilet lid 24 is
hingedly secured to the hinge bar 20 of the toilet seat 12.
The present invention is a modified toilet seat 12 that
incorporates a split-back designed to provide greater comfort. The
toilet scat 12 is constructed of conventional materials, including
plastic, wood, padded versions, and the like. Unlike conventional
toilet scats, which arc continuous oval shape, or those versions with
a split front commonly found in public facilities, the present
invention would position the split or opening IG at the rear portion
of the toilet seat 12. This will provide greater comfort to those
individuals with conditions of the posterior region including, but
~f) not limited to) tailbone injuries or hemorrhoids, as well as those
,5
with conditions of the lower hack, including sciatica or lumbar
conditions. This design is intended to reduce the pressure placed on
the body when seated on the toilet, thus reducing pain. discomfort,
and straining.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized
that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the
invention, to include variations in size. materials, shape, form,
_'i function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed
readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all
equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and
described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the
present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of
the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous
modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the
art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction
15 and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable
n~e~difications and equivalents may he resorted to, falling within the
scope of the invention.
