SOFT DRINK BOTTLE HOLDER

A soft drink bottle holder for attachment to a soft drink large diameter
bottle compromise:
a top snap ring, a hand grip element distant from annular surface of the
bottle with an integrated
finger stopper supported by a web with a rib and a loose fitted body
supporting ring.
The holder is "slide-on" type, so lifting the bottle for putting the holder on
the bottle is
unnecessary.
A finger stopper on a hand grip element of the bottle allowing use of a
person's thumb giving the
leverage for manipulating and pouring the liquid from the bottle.
For the convenience of packaging and storing, the holder could be made of two
pieces from
thermoplastic; material. In this case the holder, before it usage, would need
some simple assembly.
A soft drink bottle holder is designed, so it will fit brand name and common
design bottles.

Revendications

CLAIMS
We claim:
1. A soft drink bottle holder comprise:
a) an integrated handgrip element having an elongate rigidified handle with
integral finger stopper
where the handle is in some distance (from 25mm to 50mm) from the lateral
surface of the bottle,
so the gripping of this element would be comfortable for the user
b) an integrated web reinforcement that goes from a the finger stopper, up to
the snap ring
c) an integrated horizontal bottleneck snap ring with a tab on the end of its
arc
d) a separate connectable horizontal bottle body support completely closed
ring, which normally
could be positioned from one half to one tenth of the height of the bottle
from the bottom of the
bottle.
2. A horizontal bottle body support ring has his inside diameter larger (0.2
to 5mm) than the
diameter of the bottle in its thickest spot.
3. A bottle support ring is attached to an elongate handle in such a way, so
it is not hinged or
screwed or it cannot pivot. After connecting together with a handgrip element
creates
one-piece-like soft drink holder.
4. A cross section of bottleneck snap ring has a shape similar to turned
upside down letter "L".
5. A tab of the snap ring is flat and its thickness is 2mm to 4mm measuring
horizontally.
6. A finger stopper in the shape of hook is positioned at about three quarters
of the height of the:
bottle from the bottom, if the holder is attached to the bottle.
7. The radius of the arc of a finger stopper is more than 9 mm.
8. The width of the finger stopper is approximately the same as a width of the
handle, so the
pressure from the stopper on person's index finger is spread over the larger
surface.
9. An apparatus in accordance with claim 1 wherein said soft drink bottle
holder could be formed
by plastic injection process as one whole embodiment or could be formed as two-
piece object that
requires some assembly.

SOFT DRINK BOTTLE HOLDER
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
This invention relates to removable bottle handles and more specifically to an
attachable holder on
a plastic soft drink bottle to aid in lifting the bottle and dispensing the
contents thereof.
There are a few available kinds of plastic attachable bottle gripping devices,
which have one, or
more weaknesses in their design as pointed below:
l.They are not comfortable to use because,
a) they are flimsy
b) they need too much mechanical fastening that can be tedious for user
c) they are not strong enough, especially in temperature variations
d) they are not ergonomically designed eg. a handle could pinch the finger;
the bottle with holder
has no balance during manipulating (lifting, pouring) or handle has to be
squeezed hard by
person's hand to lift full bottle.
2. They do not fit every soft drink bottle in their capacity category (eg.2
litres).
3. They are complicated in design and expensive to manufacture
4. They are built in such a way, that a label of the bottle is covered
5. They are not easy to package
6. They occupy too much shelf space in stores
7. They squeeze the bottle from the sides too much, so the first opening of a
full bottle of gaseous
drink ends up in a spill.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A primary object of this invention to obviate the cited prior drawbacks by
providing a universal
grip device of novel type, which is applicable to different shapes of bottles.
Another object of the invention is to provide a bottle holder that will engage
a soft drink bottle
having a large diameter body, narrow neck and integrated flange just below a
thread as in
common bottle design.
A further object is to provide a bottle holder that is easily attachable and
removable from the
bottle.
Another object is to make it possible for the person to lift the bottle almost
effortlessly using
practically one finger and carry it comfortably thanks to finger stopper
incorporated in this design
(it doesn't mean the person have to use only one finger).
Further objects of the invention is to have a soft drink bottle holder which
- it is easy to package and does not occupy too much shelf space in stores
thanks to two piece
design
- it does not squeeze the bottle with very thin plastic walls
- it does not interfere with the paper or plastic label of a soft drink
- it is not expensive to manufacture ( it use little plastic and not
complicated moulds)
- it does enhance an appearance of the soft drink bottle
- it is a "slide-on" type, so lifting a heavy bottle during attaching a holder
is unnecessary.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The purpose of soft drink bottle holder according to the invention as showed
in Fig.l is to be
used with the larger size of soft drink bottles for lifting, carrying and
pouring out of the liquid
contents of the bottle. The holder would fit on not only generic bottles, but
for brand name bottles
as well.
Normally, holder is designed so it could be manufactured from thermoplastic in
two pieces for
convenience of packaging, but also it could be made as one piece.
The soft drink bottle holder as shows Fig.l has on its top partially open
removable split ring 2,
which may be snap fitted onto the neck of the bottle just under annular
flange.
From above the snap ring 2 is protruding a handgrip element 1 that goes at
first, almost
horizontally, out from the neck of the bottle. Then widens and goes down
almost parallel to
lateral surface of the body of the bottle until it bends toward this surface
merging there with a
body support ring 3.
A handgrip element 1 has (on upper inside part) a finger stopper 4, supported
by a web 5. That
web is stiffened by a rib 6 and both of them go from a snap ring 2 to a finger
stopper 4.
How to mount on the bottle a soft drink bottle holder:
Firstly, if the holder is in two pieces, join together the ring 3 and the
handgrip element 1.
(On the drawings, the joint is marked with number 8.)
Secondly, slide a body-supporting ring 3 on the bottle until the snap ring 2
would be in the level

of the neck of the bottle under the flange. Engage the snap ring 2 using one
or two hands.
In this stage the bottle does not need to be lifted or tilted etc.
How to pour:
Unscrew a cap of the soft drink bottle.
Lift the bottle by grabbing the handle, so the index finger would meet the
finger stopper 4. Then
tilt. Use a thumb for leverage and manipulating during pouring the drink out
of the bottle as
shown in Fig. 3.
How to take off a soft drink bottle holder from the bottle:
Pry on a tab 7 . A bottleneck ring should snap off from the neck of the
bottle.
Lift straight up the holder, removing it from the bottle.
