The present invention relates to a refilling
package for filling up cast candles, characterized in
that the refilling package is made in a flexible and
heat-resistant material and in that it contains a
candle fuel, namely gel paraffin. The invention also
relates to a procedure for refilling cast candles with
a refilling package as described above, characterized
in that it comprises :
- heating the refilling package until the candle
fuel is molten,
- preparing the container, and
- casting the candle fuel in the container.

CLAIMS
1. A refilling package for filling up cast
candles, characterized in that the refilling package is
made in a flexible and heat-resistant material and in
that it contains a candle fuel, namely gel paraffin.
2. A refilling package according to claim 1,
characterized in that the refilling package includes a
re-closable cap 3.
3. A refilling package according to claim 1
or 2, characterized in that the refilling package
further includes a fragrance.
4. A refilling package according to any of
claims 1-3, characterized in that the refilling package
further includes a dye.
5. A refilling kit for refilling cast
candles, characterised in that it includes a refilling
package according to any of claims 1-4.
6. A refilling kit according to claim 5,
characterized in that it further includes a bag of
wicks 5 and optionally a container 17 for the
manufacture of a cast candle.
7. A procedure for refilling cast candles
with a refilling package as described in any of claims
1-4, characterized in that it comprises :
heating the refilling package until the candle
fuel 33 is molten,
- preparing the container 25, and
- casting the candle fuel 33 in the container 25.
8. A procedure according to claim 7,
characterized in that heating is carried out by contact

with warm water 23.
9.- A procedure according to claim 7 or 8,
characterized in that the container preparation
includes arranging one wick 29 and optionally applying
decorative elements.

object of the iaveation
The present invention relates to a refilling
package for candles, particularly for gel candles.
State of the art
Candles have been sold in every size and
weight for many years. CaBt candles are also 9o~.d, in
other words, candles that are cast or moulded in any
container which has generally speak~.ng a decorative
value.
Metal, terra cotta, glass or china.-ware
dishes or boxes of small size are generally used for
this purpose, because of the good heat-resistance
properties of these materials.
Until now, no ready-made possibi~.ity was
available to re-use such a container for a cast candle
after the or~.ginal candle had been burned out. Paraffin
can be molten and optionally added with a fragrance
and/or a dye and cast in a container provided with a
wick. This method has numerous disadvantages . paraffin

is usually sold in granules and is difficult to heat
and to handle. Zt is particularly difficult to obtain a
good cast candle, because of shrinkage phenomena upon
cooling down and because the used tools and the
container in which heating has been performed are to be
cleaned.
This method is too fastidious and generally
gives an unsatisfactory result.
Aim of the inveatioa
The aim of the invention ie to be able to
easily fill up a cast candle after the original candle
has been burned out. An additional aim is to enable to
refill without tools and with a good result.
Maia featur~a of the invention
This invention relates in, a first aspect to a
refilling package for filling up cast candles,
characterized in that the refilling package consists in
a flexible and heat-resistant material and in that it
contains a candle fuel, namely gel paraffin.
The refilling package may include a closing
cap. The refilling package may also comprise a
fragrance and/or a dye.
A second aspect of the present invention is a
refilling kit for filling up cast candles,
2S characterized in that it includes one or more refilling
packages as described here-above.
Such a refilling kit Preferably includes
wicks as well and optionally, a container for the
manufacture o! a cast candle.

relates to a procedure for filling up cast candles with

characterized in that it comprises .
- heating the refilling package until the candle
fuel is molten,
- preparing the container, and
- caat~.ng the candle fuel into the container.
Heating is preferably carried out by contact
with warm water Z3.
The container preparation may include
arranging one or more wicks and optionally applying
decorative e7.ementg (non-flammable decorative
material).
Detailed daseriptivn of the iaventiva
The invention relates to a refilling package
for filling up cast candles.
This invention will be explained further in
details referring to figures and examples which are not
limitative for the scope of this patent application.
Hrief description of tha drawings
Fig. 1 de~cribes a refilling package for cast
candlse as a particular embodiment of the present
invention, more specifically a ref~.lling package with a
re-clvsable cap and provided wt~.th a bag with wicks.
P'ig. 2 illustrates a refilling kit according
to a particular embodiment, specifically a refilling
kit comprising a non re-closable refilling package and
a bag with wicks.
Fig. 3 shows a kit comprising various non re-
closable refilling packages according to a particular

embodiment of the present invention, a bag with wicks
and one or more containers.
Fig. 4 illustrates a double refilling package
as a particular embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 5 illustrates a procedure for filling up
containers for cast candles with a refilling package
according to the present invention.
The present invention can assume various
forms. A number of examples of embodiments is discussed
hereafter.
A first embodiment of the invention is
described in Fig. X. In this figure, a refilling
package 1 with a closable cap 3 is illustrated,
provided with a bag with wicks 5. The hag with wicks 5
i.s preferably glued to the refilling package eo as to
gall both together. The refilling package itself
consists in a heat-resistant and preferably flexible
material, so that the paraffin gel, after heating, can
be easily pushed out of it.
The paraffin qel may be coloured preferably
with a transparent dye and may be perfumed by adding a
fragrance for candles. Using this embodiment of the
invention, a container can be refilled several times
with the same refilling package. The cap 3 ie closed
and the gel in the refilling package 1 becomes solid
and can be molten again in a further refilling
operation.
fig. 2 illustrates a refilling kit according
to a particular embodiment, specifically a refilling
kit 9 including a non re-closable refilling package 7
and a bag of wicks.

This refilling package is obviously intended
for a single use. It is therefore desirable that the
refilling package should nvt contain too much gel, as
this latter cannot then be used. The ideal solution
5 would be to dimension this refilling package in such a
way that it can fill up a particular container. A non
re-closable refilling package is also made in a heat
resistant and preferably flexible material and can be
opened by cutting a small corner for instance with a
pair of scissors.
Zn an advantageous embodiment, a weakening
part 11 is arranged in one of the corners of a non re-
cloeable refilling package so that the corner can be
torn off by hand.
Fig. 3 shows a kit 13 including several non
re-closable refilling packages 15 according to a
particular embodiment of the present invention, a bag
of wicks and one or more containers 17. In this
embodiment, the non re-closable refilling packages 15
may be easily dimension~d depending upon the containers
17.
Fig. 4 illustrates a double refilling package
19 as a particular embodiment of the present invention.
The double refilling package 19 contains two re-
closable refilling packages l, that preferably include
a different combination of fragrances and dyes. The
user can optionally carry out combinations with the
different gel paraffinB.
Fig. 5 describes a procedure for filling up
containers for cast candles with a refilling package
according to the present invention. A re~closable or

non-reclosable refilling package 21 is placed in a bowl
with enough warm grater 23 (approximately at BO°C) for
to 15 minutes so that the gel paraffin becomes quite
liquid.
5 rn the meantime, the container 25 may be
placed on a stable base 27. one or more wicks 29 from
the bag of wicks 5 are subsequently applied, preferably
in the centre of the container 25, If several wicks are
being applied, they should be preferably spaced 5 cm
10 away from each other.
Opt~.onally, preferably non flammable
decorative elements 31, such ae sand, shells, small
stones, nails, etc. may be applied ~.n the container 25.
Finally, the cast gel paraffin 33 is moulded
in the container 25, as high as about 1 cm from the top
of the prick. As soon as the paraffin is solidified, the
candle can be lit and used.
