1
TITLE: A CART FOR USE AT LOW LYING AREA
The present invention relates to a cart, and in particular, a vehicle for use
at lowland area to perform work at low-lying areas or on agricultural field
work.
In daily life, some people need to squat down to perform work or to
operate some sorts of devices. For examples, in agricultural crops
cultivation,
the cultivated crops may not tall enough for a farmer to stand on the ground
to
provide fertilizers, pesticides for harvesting. The farmer has to squat for an
extended time to perform these tasks repeatedly
As for workers in a library, the workers need to arrange books in order on
lower shelves, and in most cases, the workers have to repeat the squatting
position for an extended period of time.
As for people perfornling maintenance services for machinery or at
construction site, the serviceman has to repeatedly squat for an extended
period of time.
However, if the workers are in a squatting position for extended time,
blood circulation in the human body is poor and therefore, it is unhealthy to
the workers. Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide
a
cart for use at low-lying area which allows or facilitates workers to perform
work at low-lying area comfortably and overcomes the need of squatting at

CA 02389934 2002-06-10
extended period of time.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a cart for
use at low-lying area having a cart body with hvo wheels or more than two
wheels pivotally mounted thereto, and a seat which is rotationally mounted
S and is capable of elevating and/or lowering, characterized in that the seat
is
provided with a plurality of screw holes in alignment with screw holes
provided on a pivotal seat positioned below the seat; a branch rod is
rotatable
mounted below the seat and is having one end mounted to an upright tube, and
the branch rod is provided with an elastic fastener positioned in a
positioning
hole to provide elevating and/or lowering positioning effect; the upright tube
is
provided with a positioning structure having a bottom section connected to a
horizontal rod and allowing the branch rod to pass through and to position; a
horizontal rod is mounted with the seat, the branch rod, the upright tube and
the two lateral sides of the horizontal rod are each extended with a side tube
which connected to the two wheels.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a cart for use at
low-lying area, wherein the user can perform work comfortably at low-lying
area and can be transported from place to place on the cart.
The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to
the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the

present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become
apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of
the
invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference
numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become
manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed
description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are
not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the
invention
in any way Rather, the following description provides a convenient
illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention.
Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function
and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope
of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, there is shown a cart for use at low-lying area
having a cart body 1 with two wheels 2 or more than two wheels pivotally
mounted thereto, and a seat 3 which is rotationally mounted and is capable of
elevating and/or lowering. The cart body 1 is provided with an upright tube
10 and a plurality of positioning holes 11 are provided on the upright tube 10
and the top end of the upright tube 10 is provided with a notch 12 and a
positioning structure 13.
A notch 12 is provided on the upper end of the upright tube 10, and the
positioning structure 13 includes a binding mounting 130 positioned on the

CA 02389934 2002-06-10
top end of the upright tube 10. The binding mount 130 at the position of the
notch 12 is provided with two protruded lugs 131 which allow the mounting
of a screw rod 133 of an adjusting button 132 so as to tighten the binding
mount 130 and to urge the top end of the upright tube 10 to contract.
The horizontal rod 16 of the cart body 1 has two lateral sides mounted each
extended with a side tube 14. The end portion of the side tube 14 is provided
with a seat plate 1 S for pivotally mounting with the wheels 2.
The wheel 2 is provided with an axle 20 and two ends of the axle 20 of
wheel 2 pass through the seat plate 15, and a slot 21 for a fastening ring 22
is
provided, at the position where the axle 20 passes through the seat plate 1 S,
to
prevent dislocation of the axle 20.
The pivotal seat 31 is positioned below the seat 3 with screws 30, and a
sleeve 310 is provided on the pivotal seat 31, and a pivotal hole 311 on the
sleeve 310 allows the branch rod 32 to be mounted, and the top end of the
branch rod 32 passes through the pivotal hole 311 and is mounted with a peg
320. The branch rod 32 at the bottom section of the sleeve 310 is provided
with a top edge 321 so that the branch rod 32 pivotally mounted at the bottom
section of the pivotal seat 31 is rotatable in 360 degree.
The other end of the branch rod 32 is mounted to the upright tube 10 and
an aperture 33 is positioned at the lower section of the branch rod 32 for the

CA 02389934 2002-06-10
mounting of an elastic fastener 34 having one end passing through the aperture
33 and elastically mounts at the positioning hole 11. The other end of the
elastic fastener 34 is provided with an elastic body 35 to provide external
elastic force to the elastic fastener 34.
Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, and 3, when the elastic fastener 34 is pressed the
elastic body 35 is compressed and the fastener 34 is retracted to the branch
rod
32. Thus the seat 3 is capable of moving up and/or down. When the
fastener 34 moves to align with the positioning hole 11 of the upright tube
10,
the fastener 34 will be elastically engage with the positioning hole 11 as a
result of restoration force and the seat 3 is elevated and positioned. When
the
seat 3 is at a specific position, the adjusting button 132 is employed to
tighten
the radius of the top opening of the upright tube 10.
Referring to FIGS. 2 to S, the branch rod 32 can be pivotally mounted to
the bottom section of the pivotal seat 31 and rotate in 360 degree at the
bottom
section of the pivotal seat 3 I . Thus when the seat 3 is at any position, the
seat 3 on the cart body 1 can be rotated at any angle, and this will
facilitate the
user to perform work at any position.
Referring to FICx 6, the seat 3 is extended to a supporting rod 36 and, and a
sunlight blocking screen 37 is provided on the supporting rod 36 so as to
shield away the sunlight.

CA 02389934 2002-06-10
7
Referring to FIGS 7, the seat 3 is provided with a tool holder 38 for holding
tools and/or related objects. This will further facilitate the convenience of
using the cart of the present invention.
It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or
more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods
differing from the type described above.
While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and
described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be
limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various
omissions,
modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the
device
illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art
without
departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
