Abrégé anglais

The present invention provides a tool being used to crimp the rings
onto the pipe joints, which includes two half-die members having each at
one end portion a recess for receiving a body member to be connected with
each half-die member thereby a roller pin.

Each half-die member includes bores opening for receiving a ring that
is crimped onto a pipe joint by the use of a shaft having at each end portion
a notch for preventing the shaft passing therethrough a hole located of each
side of a clamp bolt to be pulled out.

The clamp bolt has at its upper end portion an hexagonal-head to be
used with a key or ratchet if needed, and which includes at its lower portion
a threaded shank passing therein a recess being formed at one end portion of
a half-die member and engaged into a threaded bore being formed thereon a
circular body member being engaged into each bore located on each side of
a recess being formed at one end portion of a half-die member which
receives the circular body member.

The circular body member includes holes to be engaged thereby a
lock pin passing through each hole being formed at the lower portion of the

threaded shank, and which a thickening washer is disposed between the
upper face of a half-die member and the clamp bolt to be used as protector.

The patents mentioned above are probably the most relevant.
~t is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a tool
which can be hand held and used to crimp the rings onto the pipe joints.
Summarv of the invention:
According to the present invention, there is described a tool being
used to crimp the rings onto the pipe joints, which includes two half die
members having each at one end portion. a recess for receiving a body
member to be connected wita~ each half die ~ne~nbe~° thcreby a roller
pin.
Each half die member includes bores opening for receiving a ring that
is crimped onto a pipe j oint by the use of a shaft having at each end portion
a notch for preventing the shaft passing therethrough a role located of each
side of a clamp bolt to be pulled out.
The clamp bolt has a,t its upper end portion an he~.agonal-head to be
used with a key or ratchet if needed, and which inc;iudes at its lower portion
a threaded shank passing then ein a r ecess being for~~~ed at one end portion
of
a half die member and engaged into a threaded bore being formed thereon a
circular body member being engaged into each bore located on each side of
a recess being formed at one end portion of a half die member which
receives the circular body rr~crnberr

The circular body member includes holes to be engaged thereby a
lock pin passing through each hole being formed at the dower portion of the
threaded shank, and which. a thickening washer is disposed between the
upper face of a half die ~~nember and the clamp bolt to be used as protector.
Brief descr~tion of the several views ol° the drawi~~.g(~,
The invention will now be described by way of ex~inple with reference to
the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure I is a per spective view of ~ crimping wool;
Figure ~, is a side perspective view showing r~he co°imping t~ol
in the
open position; and
Figure 3 is an exploded view showing the components in position for
assembly.
Detailed description of the invention:
l~Tow referring to the accompanying drawings, and in particular to
figs. 1 to 3, there is shown a tool (A) being used tc) crimp the rings onto
the
pipe joints, and which includes two half'die ~~emiv'ers (I) and (2) having
each at one end portion a recess (7) for receiving a~ body member (3) to be
connected with each half die member ( I ) and (2) thereby a roller pin (4).
Each half die nnember (I) and (2) includes bores (~) opening for

receiving a ring that is crimped onto a pipe joint by the use of a shaft (22)
having at each end portion a, notch (23) for preve~.ting the shaft (22)
passing
thcrethrough a hole (2l. ) located of each side of a c.~an ~p bolt (19) to be
pulled out.
The clamp bolt ( 1 R) has at its upper end por~tlor~ an hexagonal-head
(2D) to be used with a lcey or.° ral:ehet if needed, and which includes
at its
lower portion a threaded shank ( 1 °~) passing therein a re~,ess ( 13)
being
formed at one end portion o~ a half=die ~nernber (l;~ and engaged into a
threaded bore (10) being for~~ed thereon a circular body rneYnber (R) being
engaged into each bore ( 11 ) being formed on each side of a recess ( 12)
being formed at one end portion of a half die rner~;uer (L;) which receives
the
circular body merr~ber (R).
The circular body ~~ember (3) includes holes ( I ~) to be engaged
thereby a lock pin ( 15) passing through each hole ( l 6) being f~rrr~cd at
the
lower portion of the threaded shank ( 17), and which a thickening washer
(l8) is disposed between tl~e upper face of a half lie z~n~xnber (l ) and the
clarr~p bolt (19) to be used as protector.
Accordingly, while the preferred embodiments of the invention have
been described above, it v~~:ll be recognised and understood that various
