WIRELESS BICYCLE LIGHT
Background of the Invention
This invention relates to a low cost Wireless Remote Control Bicycle Light
having a remote
control apparatus which comprises of a wireless signal processing circuit,
which consists of a
microcontroller and dimming apparatus. In particular, the Bicycle Light which
remotely operates
and controls various dimming functions to synthesize illumination sequences,
with an adjustable
light beam according to user's requirements, including control ON/OFF
operation.
Description of the Prior Art
There are number of electronic products that use remote control technology to
receive and
transmit radio frequencies to operate and control power source ON and OFF, is
a well known art
in today's world, such as toys, televisions, stereos, lights, etc.
US patent No 6,252358 filed on August 14, 1998 by Xydis; about Wireless
Lighting Control
described plurality of light bulbs and a main power switch for supplying
electrical power to the
bulbs. The system includes a remote control with a single button for producing
a signal, and a
controller responsive to the remote control for sequentially and in numeric
order changing the
supply of electrical power to the bulbs. This is mainly for main electrical
power, not similar to the
present invention of the Wireless Bicycle Light.
US Patent NO 6,680,586 filed on November 07 2002 by Heng Chien Chen, Taiwan
described a
remotely controllable and programmable power control unit for controlling and
programming the
state and power level, including special functions, of one or more electrical
devices. The electrical
device can be an electric lamp. The system includes a user-actuatable remote
transmitter unit and a
user-actuatable power control unit adapted to receive control signals from the
remote transmitter
unit.
US Patent NO 6,814,643 Filed on January 18, 2002 Mike Dooley, San Rafael,
California
described a Remote Controller Toy, the apparatus is characterized in that it
is adapted to respond
to a sequence of light pulses which have a frequency of repetition that is
lower than the maximum

CA/NOR/WBL/01032007
frequency which a human being can produce manually, e.g., by alternately
turning the torch on
and off.
As stated in the above, there are number of remote control embodiments in the
market wherein the
specific lights to be switched ON and OFF, such as TV control lights, spot
lights etc. However, the
present invention is much more different than any of the above prior art. All
the above prior arts
are not specifically focused on the Bicycle Light which is able to be
controlled with a remote
control dimmer system to save energy and run for a long period of time. The
present innovation
also has a system that when user is in a dark area the user is able to
increase the illumination
system, and when the user is in a city area, to decrease the light
illumination to a comfortable light
beam, such as high and low beam light mechanism similar to a car. In addition,
this innovation
also has a system that the light is adjustable from narrow light beam to wider
light beam,
according to requirements of the user.
Summery of Invention
In order to solve the above problems, the main objective of the present
invention is to provide a
remotely controlled electronic apparatus that comprises of the Remote Control
member which has
an electronic circuit assembly inserted with the electronic transmitter
assembly, and the Bicycle
Light member that comprises of the circuit assembly which has a receiving
device assembly that
are capable of receiving signals most probably wherein when specific signal
transmits from the
Remote Control member, the Bicycle Light member is able to receive said
specific signal and
control and perform various lighting illumination positions, means when the
system is zero
percent (0%) the light assembly in the Bicycle Light member to be in OFF
position and when the
system is in hundred percent (100%) the light assembly to illuminate at a
maximum illumination
position, and when the illumination position is in fifty percent (50%) the
light assembly to
illuminate and dimmer the illumination to half of the maximum illumination
position, so on.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a Remote Control
adjustable lens cover,
wherein the light beams are able to be controlled wider to narrow according to
user's requirements.

CA/NOR/WBL/01032007
Another' objective is to provide a Remote Control member which comprises of
specially designed
key members, wherein said key member is pressed, then Remote Controller member
is able to
transmit specific selected signal data to receiver assembly in the Bicycle
Light member, wherein
said signals are able to correspond with selected specific illumination
measure dimming unit zero
to one hundred percent (0 -100%) so that the light assembly is able to perform
various
illumination positions. More details will be described under detail
descriptions.
Still another objective is to permit number of key assemblies that the user is
able to call up the
desired illumination position by selecting specific key assemblies in the
Remote Controller
member. For example: when key number 1(one) is pressed the system is able to
control 100%
illumination position. When key number 2 (two) is pressed the system is able
to control 50%
illumination position. When key number 3 (three) is pressed the system is able
to control 30%
illumination position. With key number 3 (three) the user holds and waits for
a few seconds
wherein the system is able to control 0% - 100% and back illumination
positions and so on. It is
important to note that this type of method is able to be programmed and
operate any type of
illuminating positions.
Another objective of the invention is to provide an ON-OFF secondary switching
assembly,
means, when the special button assembly on the Bicycle Light member is pressed
once the light
assembly is activated and illuminates at 100% (ON position). When the button
is pressed a second
time the system will activate and perform 0% illumination position (OFF
position).
Still another objective is to incorporate the Indicating Light assembly in the
bicycle light member,
so that when the Remote Controller is in operation mode means illumination
position in 1% and
up, the indicating light is able to tell the user that the system is in the ON
position. This would
enable the user to understand that the system is in ON or OFF position.
Further objective is to provide an additional outlet from the Bicycle Light
member wherein said
light is able to receive additional power source or able to recharge the power
supply if needed.
Still a another objective is to provide an inserted locking system on the
Bicycle Light member
having grooves that will enable it to be attached on the bicycle handle bar
socket so that user is
3

CA 02583104 2007-03-07
CA/NOR/WBL/01032007
able to attach 'the Bicycle Light member on the bicycle handle bar or the
helmet. In addition, this
would provide easy access to remove the Bicycle Light member from the bicycle
and carry it with
the user when the user needs to do so.
To achieve the above objectives the present invention is to provide the
Bicycle Light member
which has a front head segment, connected with the body segment and the body
segment is
connected with bottom cover segment similar to the flash light. The front head
segment consists
with the light assembly, most probably LED light, which is covered with glass
or other similar
substance to protect the light assembly from rain or other similar weather
conditions. The body
segment is made with waterproof material in a shape of a tube which has access
to insert the
power source in the battery assembly.
The bottom segment is some what different than the other two segments. The
bottom segment is
inserted with a specially designed circuit assembly that comprises with an
electronic circuit and
receiver assembly and other required electronic components that are needed for
the system to
activate the above described illumination segments. It is interesting to note
that the bottom
segments is made in such a manner that this bottom segments is able to be
inserted with any other
lighting system with a minor cosmetic change of the outer and inner circuit.
Further, the innovation provides by designing a power output that is able to
receive additional
power source, when the existing power source is not sufficient for certain
amount of time. For
example: the existing battery power allows for only 6 hours and the user needs
to use the bicycle
light for 8 hours, then user is able to connect said outlet to the additional
power source. In
addition, provides a method that said power source also uses to recharge the
battery assembly, if
needed.
The Wireless Bicycle Light is further described in detail under detailed
description. It is important
to note that the Wireless Bicycle Light 10 will be designed in various ways,
placing electronic
components in different locations of the Wireless Bicycle Light without
deviation from either the
spirit or the scope of the present invention.
