Storage System for Cleaning Textiles
Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to a storage system for cleaning textiles, including at
least one
container and two rails that can be mounted on a cleaning trolley.
Prior Art
In commercial cleaning operations, especially in hygiene sensitive locations
such as
hospitals, mopping systems with pre-moistened mop covers or cloths are often
used for
damp cleaning. These cleaning textiles are pretreated with a cleaning liquid
and stored in
containers. The cleaning textiles are then spread over a mop apparatus and
replaced after a
short period of use by a new, pretreated mop cover. Large cleaning jobs
therefore require a
large number of pretreated mop covers which must be easily accessibly
transported.
DE 200 80 287 U1 discloses a container for the storage of cleaning textiles,
which
includes a cover hingedly attached to the container. The cover is thereby
constructed in
such a way that several containers can be stacked. Furthermore, the container
can be set
down on a cleaning trolley.
Description of the Invention
It is an object of the invention to provide a storage system for cleaning
textiles which
allows the transportation of a large number of cleaning textiles, while
providing easy
accessibility.
This object is achieved with the features of claim 1. Preferred embodiments
are dealt with
in the dependent claims.
This object is achieved with a storage system for cleaning textiles, including
at least one
container and two rails mountable on a cleaning trolley, whereby the container
is slideably
supportable in the rails and whereby the rails and the container have a
mechanism by
1

CA 02622874 2008-03-17
which the container can be registered in at least one position. Containers can
be moveably
hung in the rails and shifted in order to reach different working positions.
The rails can
thereby be flexibly fastened in different mobile systems. The container can be
fixed in
different working positions by way of the registering mechanism. Several
folded cleaning
textiles can be placed parallel to one another in the container, especially
mop covers. The
storage system can be placed in a cleaning trolley.
The container can be closeable by a cover. The cover prevents a premature
escape of the
cleaning liquid incorporated into the cleaning textiles. Furthermore,
containers with covers
can be more easily stacked.
The rails can have a registering position which corresponds to a transport
position and a
second registering position which corresponds to a working position. In the
transport
position, the containers are space-savingly positioned for ease of
maneuvering. In the
working position, the containers are positioned in such a way that the mop
covers can be
easily removed.
The rails can have a groove in which the container is slideably supportable.
The containers
are especially safely guided by the groove so that the containers are securely
held during
transport.
The mechanism can be formed by detents which are positioned in the groove and
engageable with recesses positioned on the container. Detents are especially
easily
manufactured and enable a secure hold. The container can be easily removed
from the
registering position by slight lifting.
The container can be inclined in the working position. The accessibility of
the mop covers
and thereby the ergonomics of the storage system are improved by this
inclination.
The cover can be separately supportable on the rails. The container can
thereby be shifted
back and forth in the rails, whereby the cover remains in a stationary
position. For
example, the container can be covered by the cover in the transport position
and upon
shifting into the working position, the cover remains in the transport
position so that the
2

CA 02622874 2008-03-17
mop covers are easily removable from the container. However, when the
container is
inserted into the grooves and the cover is placed on the rails, the cover and
container are
slightly spaced from one another and a small gap is formed.
The container with the cover placed thereon may be insertable into the grooves
of the rails.
The container is thereby tightly sealed, which is advantageous, especially for
longer
transport distances or when the cleaning is interrupted.
The container can be insertable at both ends of the rails. The container is
then also
removable from both sides. Several containers can be inserted on one side,
which is
advantageous, especially for loading in tight spaces, since the cleaning
trolley can then be
completely filled and serviced from one side.
Two containers can be insertable into the rails. This increases the number of
transportable
containers and the amount of transportable mop covers.
A colored element can be fastenable to the containers. The colored elements
allow a
classification of the mop covers, which in turn are assigned to certain
cleaning tasks. This,
together with a color coded mop apparatus, results in a color marking of all
apparatus of a
mop system, which lowers the danger of incorrect use.
Brief Description of the Drawings
Several exemplary embodiments of the storage system in accordance with the
invention
are further described in the following by way of the figures. They
respectively
schematically illustrate the following:
Fig. 1 shows an exploded view of a storage system positioned in a cleaning
trolley;
Fig. 2 shows a storage system with two containers in the transport position;
Fig. 3 shows a storage system with one container in the working position.
Description of the Invention
3

CA 02622874 2008-03-17
Figure 1 shows a storage system 1 for cleaning textiles 2, in this case mop
covers, which is
mounted to a cleaning trolley 4. The storage system 1 consists of several
containers 3, in
this illustration two. The containers 3 are slideably supported in rails 5,
whereby the rails 5
are non-positively and positively fastened to the cleaning trolley 4. The
rails 5 and the
container 3 have a mechanism 6 with which the container 3 can be registered in
two
positions. The container 3 can thereby be registered in a first latch position
8, which
corresponds to a transport position and in a second latch position 9, which
corresponds to
a working position. The rails 5 include a groove 10 in which the container 3
is shiftably
supported. The mechanism 6 is formed by detents 11 which are positioned in the
groove
and are engageable with recesses 12 provided on the container 3. The rails 5
are
symmetrically constructed so that the container 3 is insertable and removable
from both
ends of the rails 5. This allows a through-loading of the container 3 for the
loading of a
cleaning trolley 4 positioned against a wall. Furthermore, the rails 5 are in
this
embodiment constructed to receive two containers 3. The container 3 is
closeable by a
cover 7, whereby the cover 7 in a first position is separately supportable on
the rails 5. The
rails 5 can thereby have a further groove in which the cover 7 can be
inserted, whereby the
cover is additionally guided in the further groove, which leads to a reduction
of the noise
during transport. In a second position, the cover 7 is placed on the container
3 and the
container 3 with installed cover 7 is insertable into the groove 10 of the
rail 5. The cover 7
can be made in two parts, whereby the two cover parts are hingedly connected
with one
another, for example by way of a rotatable joint or a living hinge, so that
the container 3
can be opened without complete removal of the cover 7. The containers 3 are
lifted for
shifting so that the detent 11 no longer engages the recess 12. The containers
3 have a
preferred side 14 which has a formed handle 15 on which a colored element 13
is
positioned.
In larger cleaning trolleys, rails 5 can be positioned directly parallel and
adjacent to one
another in order to increase their capacity. In other embodiments, a back
cover reduces
possible injuries, for example by fastening elements. A fairing for the
cleaning trolley 4
can be positioned between the rails 5 or between rail 5 and the back cover.
Alternatively, a
spacer can be provided to bridge the gap. Alternatively, open pans can be
positioned in the
rails 5 and the pans or containers 3 can have a double capacity. The rails 5
are preferably
non-positively and/or positively fastened to the cleaning trolley 4. The
cleaning trolley 4
4

CA 02622874 2008-03-17
can be provided with reinforcing grooves in which the rails 5 are positively
held. The
connection can be achieved by a clamping connection in which two rails or one
rail and a
back cover enclose a portion of the cleaning trolley 4, for example a pipe.
Drill holes in
the cleaning trolley 4 can be obviated with such a connection, which
simplifies the
cleaning of the cleaning trolley 4 and reduces the corrosion danger.
Figure 2 shows a storage system 1 according to Figure 1. Two containers 3 are
positioned
in the rails 5 and their covers 7 are placed on the rails 5, whereby a gap is
formed between
the container 3 and the cover 7.
Figure 3 shows a storage system according to Figure 1, whereby the container 3
is
positioned in the second latch position corresponding to the working position.
