MAGNETIC CONNECTABLE WRITABLE BLOCKS

A modular kit incorporates a plurality of blocks of differing sizes first
coated in a
magnetic coating and a writable coating on the outer surface. These blocks can
be
left standalone, stacked in of themselves, or held together via connector
blocks and
stacked in any number of ways. Connector blocks are blocks with magnets
imbedded
in all or some sides that connect the blocks with the magnetic coated surfaces
together. Connector blocks have a writable coating applied to the surface. Any
of the
blocks can be of one colour or any of the sides being different colours.

Claims
What is claimed is:
1. A multi block kit comprising: one or more magnetic connectable writable
blocks surfaced with both a writable coating and a magnetic coating, one or
more connector blocks, wherein each connector block has magnets imbedded
on the surface of any number of sides from one to six, to enable them to hold
the writable blocks to each other.
2. The writable block of claim 1 can be made of wood, plastic or any material
that can be coated as described in claim 1.
3. The writable block of claim 1 is a block of any size, first coated with a
magnetic coating and then with a chalkboard or whiteboard coating. The final
coating of claim 1 will not be so thick as to negate the ability of the
magnetic
coating to be attracted to the magnets imbedded in the surfaces of the
connector blocks.
4. The connector blocks of claim 1 can be square block, triangle block or
rectangular block shaped. They can be of the same dimension of the writable
block or smaller or larger than it. The connector block can be coated with any
suitable coating.
5. The connector block of claim 1 will have a flush mount magnet of enough
strength to adhere two writable blocks together. The magnet can be on one or
or up to all of the sides of the connector blocks.

Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to blocks and more particularly to a method of
making the
blocks interesting in design through the ability to display the blocks in any
number of
ways by using the connector blocks, writing on the magnetic connectable
writable blocks
and attaching any type of item that can be adhered with a magnet to the
magnetic
connectable writable blocks.
Background of the Invention
This is a method to allow people in any age group to have a fun, configurable
and
decorative way to post, write and display the items they need. The magnetic
connectable
writable blocks can used for practical purposes of writing notes and
reminders, drawings
on the chalk or whiteboard surfaces, displaying photos or any number of items.
The kit
offers a variety of configurations to permit individual expression in how the
blocks are
stacked and connected.
Summary of the Invention
In one of its aspects, the magnetic connectable writable block kit according
to the
invention contains one or many writable blocks with each side having a
writable and a
magnetic coating.
The magnetic connectable writable block kit further comprises a plurality of
connector
blocks with one, some or all sides containing an embedded magnet for use in
connecting
the writable blocks to one another. Connector blocks in addition to the magnet
will have
all exterior surfaces done with a writable coating.

description of the
preferred embodiment which follows and to the claims.

Detailed Description of Best Mode and Preferred Embodiment of the Invention
The magnetic connectable writable block and kit of the invention comprises
modular
elements. One of the elements, as shown in Figure 1 is a magnetic connectable
writable
block. The block can be of any size and will have a magnetic coating and a
writable
coating on all side surfaces. The writable surface(2) will be a chalkboard or
whiteboard
coating.
Each side of the block can have a picture, text or other items drawn on the
writable
surface or any number of items can be attached using magnets.
As shown in Fig 2, the kit also comprises of at least one connector block. The
connector
blocks can be a square(9), rectangular (11) or triangle(10) shaped blocks and
will have
magnets(4) embedded any on number of sides from one to all. All connector
block
surfaces (3) will have a writable coating applied.
As demonstrated in Fig 3, the corresponding geometry of the connector blocks

provides support, to hold the connectable writable blocks(5) in the desired
position. The
magnetic attraction means there will be enough force to hold the connectable
writable
blocks in position while permitting easy repositioning.
Although in the preferred embodiment magnets are used to the hold the blocks
in
position, other attachment means are possible.
The modular elements of the magnetic connectable writable blocks may be easily
disassembled into a kit for packing, storing and shipping.
It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that other variations of
the preferred
embodiment may also be practiced without departing from the scope of the
invention.
