CLAIMS
The embodiments of the invention which an exclusive property or privilege is
claimed
are defined as follows:
1. A device or article intended to be worn by an individual or kept on one's
person
printed with an alpha, or numeric, or alphanumeric code, or barcode for the
purpose of accessing medical, health, safety or emergency information via a
network, including but not limited to: the internet, wireless networks,
cellular
networks, and medical databases.
The defining components of the device are:
a. An item such as a bracelet, watch, pendant, zipper toggle, dog tag,
identification card, earring, eyeglasses, belt buckle, watchband, charm, or
ring;
b. A caduceus, Rod of Asclepius or other widely recognized medical alert
symbol on the item with the intent to alert / get attention of medical
service providers or others;
c. an alpha, or numeric, or alphanumeric code or barcode which acts as a
"key" to accessing the desired data;
d. A network address where the key can be used to retrieve the desired
data
2. The method of claim 1 where in the readout is visualized on a laptop
computer,
desktop computer, hand-sized electronic device, personal phone such as a
PalmPilot.TM., Blackberry.TM., iPhone.TM., iPad and other similar computing
devices.
3. A device as in 1) which is intended to be used on a pet.
4. A device as in 1) which is intended to be used on livestock.
5. A device as in 1) which is intended to be used on wild animals.

SPECIFICATION
1. General Character
This invention is a device worn or possessed by an individual with a unique
key code for
the purpose of allowing strangers to access personal and medical information
that
might be critical in a time of emergency via a network (such as the internet,
a wireless
network or a cellular network). This information includes medical history,
allergies,
medications, contact information for family and doctors, care and custody,
living wills
and passing wills.
2. The Nature and Flaws of Previous Known Devices That ICEfind Replaces or
Improves
The biggest and most well-known company for distribution of personal medical
information is Medic-Alert via a bracelet with an engraving describing the
nature of the
wearer's condition, issue, or allergy.
Current products have some considerable limitations that ICEfind addresses.
These
flaws include:
a) incompleteness of information due to lack of ability to deliver a volume of
data
b) data is often not current and/or relevant as time passes
c) devices and cards can have wear and tear and/or breakage
d) emergency responders cannot always recognize the information device
e) devices that use technology are not ubiquitous due to the myriad of
technology
platforms
f) some solutions are prone to communication errors and retention of verbal
descriptions
g) many devices do not identify the wearer so responders can't know for sure
if the
bracelet or device actually is for the wearer.
All traditional offerings (such as bracelets, wallet cards, tattoos) fail to
offer the scope
and breadth of information because all of the methods share a similar flaw in
delivery:
they attempt to put the information on the device itself rather than providing
a gateway
to the information via a network. Even wallet cards (which have the greatest
space
available) still have very limited space available to deliver a complete
medical / heath /
safety profile. All of these devices also are prone to becoming out of date as
conditions
of the wearer change and thus reduce their usefulness. Wallet cards can also
become
worn out and unreadable. Wallet cards are often overlooked by emergency
responders.
Finally, a bracelet or device may be found on a person in crisis or near a
person in crisis
and it is not generally possible to even know if that device is actually for
the person in
crisis or is in the possession of the person in crisis for a different reason.
"Thumb drive" products (or USB Flash Drives) do solve the data volume problem
however they still share the concept that the data is on the person rather
than via a
secure delivery system over a network. Thumb drives, however, have several
greater
flaws because they require software on the thumb drive which is compatible
with
