Adapter Structure of Ventilatina Fan
This application claims and enjoys the benefit and priority from Chinese
Patent
Application No. 201320029570.4, filed on January 18, 2013, the disclosure of
which is
incorporated herein in its entirety by reference.
Field of the Invention
The present application relates to a adapter structure, more particularly, to
a
adapter structure of a ventilating fan.
Description of the Related Art
The conventional ventilating fan has shutters for opening or closing the air
path of
the ventilating fan so as to prevent outside foreign matter into the
ventilating fan or
outside air into the ventilating fan. Figure 1 is a schematic view showing a
adapter
structure of a ventilating fan in the prior art. As shown in figure 1, a
ventilating fan is
disclosed by Japanese Patent Publication No. 2001-33088, the adapter structure
1 of the
ventilating fan comprises: a metal adapter 2 having an oval cross section for
increasing
an air path area and a shutter 3 provided in the metal adapter 2; the metal
adapter 2 is
divided into two parts: an air inlet 4 and an air outlet 5.
Figures 2A and 2B are schematic views showing another adapter structure of a
ventilating fan in the prior art. As shown in figure 2, a shutter 10 of the
ventilating fan
is provided to be cooperated with a shape of an oval metal adapter 6, of which
a
symmetry axis in the horizontal direction is a major axis 7, and a symmetry
axis in the
vertical direction is a minor axis 8. The metal shutter 10 is constituted by a
flat plate 17

i
CA 02839748 2014-01-13
and a flange 12 with bending edges, and a rivet 9 is provided at an inner wall
of the
oval air outlet of the metal adapter 6, for reducing the noise caused by
collision
between the metal shutter 10 and the metal rivet 9, a rubber ring 11 is
provided outside
of the rivet 9 and then the shutter 10 is mounted on the rubber ring 11.
Otherwise, a
limit structure 13 is provided in the adapter 6 for limiting the shutter 10
within a
maximum opening position and closing position, and for reducing the noise
caused by
collision between the metal shutter 10 and the limit structure 13, a sponge 11
is
provided in a position where the shutter 10 collides with the limit structure
13.
An oval metal shutter 10 is provided within the metal adapter 6 to be
cooperated
with the shape of the metal adapter 6, comparing with a round shutter, an
imaginary
adapter line 20 between the rotatable axis 15 of the oval shutter 10 is more
closer to a
center of the shutter 10 in the horizontal direction, which is the position of
the major
axis 7, therefore, the part below the imaginary adapter line 20 between the
rotatable
axis 15 of the oval shutter 10 is much shorter. As a result, an area for
bearing buoyant
force of opening the shutter 10 is small. In some circumstances, after the
shutter 10 is
opened by the air from the ventilating fan, the buoyant force of opening the
shutter 10
is not sufficient, and it causes that the shutter 10 is vibrated largely.
Preferably, when the shutter is opened, it is maintained in the horizontal
direction.
When the ventilating fan operates, the shutter is vibrated, and it is not
maintained
in the horizontal direction, the air towards the outdoor is blocked by the
shutter,
therefore the resistance in the air path is increased, under this
circumstance, in order to
ensure the required air quantity, the load of the fan must be increased.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
2

CA 02839748 2014-01-13
As shown in figures, an adapter structure 100 of a ventilating fan according
to the
present invention comprises: an oval metal adapter 200 and an oval metal
shutter 300
provided in the metal adapter 200 and being cooperated with a shape of the
oval metal
adapter 200, the shutter 300 is formed by resin of a plate body, two clamp
parts 370
are provided for clamping the rotating shaft 230 and erected from left and
right edges of
the plate body to an outside surface. The shutter 300 is rotated in the metal
adapter
230 by the rotating shafts 230.
The present application gives the following definitions: under the statement
of the
shutter 300 closing, a surface located at an air inlet 210 side of the metal
adapter 200
is defined as an inner surface 320, and a surface located at an air outlet 220
side of the
metal adapter 200 is defined as an outer surface 330, parts over the rotating
shafts 230
of the shutter 300 is defined as an upper part 340 of the shutter 300, parts
under the
rotating shafts 230 of the shutter 300 is defined as an lower part 350 of the
shutter 300,
an end of the lower part 350 of the shutter 300 is defined as a tail 360, a
symmetry axis
of a longitudinal cross-section of the oval metal shutter 300 in the
horizontal direction
is defined as a major axis 375, and a symmetry axis in the vertical direction
is defined
as a minor axis 380.
As the rotating shafts 230 according to the present invention are provided on
both
sides of the shutter 300, the shafts bodies are not located on the center of
the shutter
300, and an imagination line connecting and extending between both sides of
the
rotating shafts 230 is defined as a center line of the rotating shafts 230.
Alternatively in
the present invention the rotating shafts 230 may be one shaft running through
both
sides of the shutter 300. A projection of a center line of the rotating shaft
230 on the
shutter 300 intersects the minor axis 380, and the intersection point is
defined as a
projection point 383, a curve point 382 is provided between the projection
point 383 of
5

CA 02839748 2014-01-13
the center line of the rotating shaft 230 on the minor axis 380 and the tail
360 of the
shutter 300, and a curve portion 390 is formed by curving the shutter 300 from
the
curve point 382 to the inner surface 320 side of the shutter along the minor
axis 380.
When the ventilating fan operates, air is flowing from the air inlet 210 of
the
metal adapter 200 to the shutter 300, and the shutter 300 is opened. Before
the air
reaches the curve point 382, air density on the lower side of the inner
surface 320 of the
shutter 300 is equal to the air density on the upper side of the outer surface
330. As the
curve portion 390 is formed by curving the shutter 300 from the curve point
382 to the
inner surface 320 side of the shutter 300 along the minor axis 380, air
density on the
lower side of the inner surface 320 of the shutter 300 starts to increase from
the curve
point 382, and the air density increases as a radian of the curve portion 390
increases,
and air density on the upper side of the outer surface 330 of the shutter 300
starts to
decrease from the curve point 382, and the air density decreases as a radian
of the curve
portion 390 increases, so more closer toward the tail 360 of the shutter 300
the position
is, more larger the air buoyant is, the shutter 300 is stable by virtue of the
curve portion
390 at the opening position and the vibration of the shutter 300 is
suppressed.
The shutter 300 is formed smoothly from the curve point 382 to the tail 360 by
the
curve portion 390, so that the air flowing is guided to flow the outdoor
smoothly, and
the turbulent is avoided.
In the embodiment, the curve point 382 is located on an upstream side where a
distance is a third from the rotate shaft 230 to the tail 360. With the above
structure, air
density on the lower side of the inner surface 320 of the shutter 300 starts
to increase at
the upstream side where the distance is one third from the rotating shaft to
the tail, so
that the air buoyant applied on the inner surface 320 of the shutter 300 is
efficient, and
the vibration of the shutter 300 at the opening position is suppressed, and
the opening
6

CA 02839748 2014-01-13
degree of the shutter 300 is maintained. Comparing the shutter with curving
edges in
the prior art, the air flowing in the present invention is more smooth and the
air flowing
quantity is increased.
The shutter 300 according to the present invention is formed by resin
injection
molding as a whole. With injection molding, it is not necessary to use the
rubber ring
for mounting the shutter on the metal adapter , instead, clamp parts 370 are
provided
vertically on the outer surface 330 of the shutter 300, and the clamp parts
370 and
shutter 300 are formed as a whole, clamp holes 371 are provided on the clamp
parts 370,
a rivet 201 is mounted on the inner wall of the metal adapter 200. When the
shutter
300 is mounted, the clamp parts are elastically deformed so that the clamp
hole is
cooperated with the rivet 201 on the inner wall of the metal adapter 200, and
the mount
of the shutter 300 is finished. Additionally, reinforcing parts 372 are
provided on the
clamp parts 370 for reinforcing themselves. Specifically, the reinforcing
parts 372 are
shaped as a triangle when the shutter 300 is opened horizontally, and are
configured to
have two reinforcing parts to clamp the rivet 201. Due to the support of the
Reinforcing
parts 372, the rivet 201 is clamped in the clamp parts 371 so that then the
shutter 300 is
mounted on the metal adapter 200, the clamp parts 370 is vertical to the upper
surface
of the shutter 300.
As the shutter 300 is formed by resin injection molding, the noise caused by
collision between the metal shutter and the limit structure 400 of the metal
adapter 200
is reduced, and the sponge is not necessary. Therefore, the present invention
is
advantageous in reducing the cost, lowering the working time. Further, as the
resin is
lighter than metal the shutter 300 is light and opened easily so as to reduce
noise and
ensure air quantity.
A rib 381 is formed on the minor axis 380 of the shutter 300 according to the
7

CA 02839748 2014-01-13
present invention, and a rib 231 also is formed on a projection of the center
line of the
rotate shaft 230 on the shutter 300.
As the shutter 300 is formed by resin injecting molding as a plate body, the
shutter is designed to be light and thin. Though the plate body is provided to
be thin, as
the rib 381 is formed on the minor axis 380, the curve portion 390 is provided
on the
plate body surely. Though the plate body is provided to be thin, as the rib
231 also is
formed on the projection of the center line of the rotate shaft 230 on the
shutter 300, the
strength of the shutter 300 is efficient for mounting after the shutter is
elastically
deformed.
Additionally, the rotating shaft 230 of the shutter is provided at the outer
surface
side of the plate body, even though the shape of the metal adapter 200 is
oval, it may
increase air flowing quantity in the upper side of the outer surface 330 of
the shutter
300 when the shutter 300 is opened. Accordingly it helps to equalize the air
flowing
quantity in the lower side of the inner surface, and it is easy to maintain
the shutter in a
status of being opened horizontally.
In the embodiment, the rotating shaft 230 is integrated to be arranged on the
metal
adapter 200. Alternatively, grooves are provided in two inner sides of the
metal adapter
200, and a protrusion is provided on both sides of the shutter 300 integrally.
When the
shutter 300 is mounted, the shutter 300 is deformed slightly so that the
protrusion is
fitted into the grooves so as to form a rotating shaft. Those skills in the
art may
understand that rotating shaft of the present invention can be modified or
some technical
features are replaceable with equivalents without departing from the spirits
of the technical
solution of the present invention, which should be considered as falling into
the scope of the
present invention.
