Abrégé anglais

The present invention relates to a submerged-motor-pump protection pumping-pipe for a deep well that can achieve safe construction of a pumping pipe to be installed in a deep well and stable pumping through a submerged motor pump. To achieve this, the present invention provides a submerged-motor-pump protection pumping-pipe for a deep well, comprising: a guide means for constructing a pumping pipe in a borehole, the pumping pipe including a first pipe to which a submerged motor pump is attached and second to nth pipes connected thereto; a packing that is divided into halves in the longitudinal direction to surround the first pipe and has first fixing parts formed on the upper and lower portion thereof, an extending part formed between the first fixing parts, and a longitudinal cutaway part formed on the surface thereof; a clamp band coupled to the first fixing parts to secure the packing to the pumping pipe; and a first coupling secured to the opposite ends of the packing through insertion into the first pipe, wherein the first coupling is subjected to injection molding such that first and second vertical guides formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof alternate with each other, thereby making an electric wire and a wire rope pass through a space between the first and second guides.

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. An underground water pumping pipe assembly, comprising:
a first pipe coupled to an underground water motor pump (M);
second to n-th pipes (P2, P3, ..., and Pn) wherein the second pipe
is coupled to the first pipe, wherein the first to n-th pipes are
coupled to each other in series;
a packing (10) configured to wrap the first pipe (P1), wherein the
packing (10) includes first securing portions (14) at a top and
bottom thereof, an extension (12) extending between the first
securing portions (14), and vertically elongate cut-away portions
(16,18) formed in the extension (12);
clamping bands (20), each band coupled to each first securing
portion (14) to fix the packing (10) to the first pipe (P1); and
first coupling members (30) to receive therein the first pipe (P1)
and be coupled to the top and bottom of the packing (10)
respectively, wherein each first coupling member (30) has a first
member body and first and second guides (32,34) formed on the
body to be vertically arranged to be alternated with each other to
define spaces (35) therebetween, wherein an electrical wire (E)

and wire rope (W) for the motor pump (M) extend through the
spaces (35) respectively.
2. The assembly of claim 1, wherein one of the first and second
guides (32,34) has a protrusion formed thereon, wherein each first
coupling member (30) is secured to each clamping band (20) with
the protrusion being fitted with the clamping band (20).
3. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the packing (10) has a plurality of
extensions (12) vertically arranged to be spaced from each other,
wherein the packing (10) has a second securing portion (15)
between any adjacent extensions of said plurality of extensions (12).
4. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising:
second coupling members (30a) coupled to tops of the first to n-th
pipes (P1, ..., and Pn) respectively, wherein each second coupling
member (30a) has a second member body and third and fourth
guides (32,34) formed on the body to be vertically arranged to be
alternated with each other to define further spaces (35)
therebetween, wherein the electrical wire (E) and wire rope (W) for

the motor pump (M) extend through the further spaces (35)
respectively; and
coupling tubes (40) coupled to bottoms of the first to n-th pipes
(P1...Pn) respectively, wherein each coupling tube (40) is screw-
coupled to each second coupling member (30a) adjacent thereto.
5. The assembly of claim 4, wherein each second coupling member
(30a) has an inwardly stepped portion (36) formed at a vertical
middle thereof to define an inner space of each second coupling
member into upper and lower space portions, wherein the upper
space portion receives a corresponding pipe (P1, P2,..., or Pn) and
the lower space portion receives a corresponding coupling tube (40)
via a screw coupling (37).

BACKGROUND
Field of the Present Disclosure
[0001] The present disclosure relates to an underground water
pumping pipe assembly for an underground water motor pump, and,
more particularly, to an underground water pumping pipe assembly
for an underground water motor pump wherein the pumping pipe
assembly is protected during an installation thereof.
Discussion of the Related Art
[0002] Typically, in order to pull up groundwater, underground hot
water, etc., a borehole is drilled into the underground, and then, the
underground water pump is inserted into the borehole and then to a
groundwater source.
[0003] This groundwater pull-up process will be described briefly with
reference to FIG. 1. When drilling the borehole H using a driller, the
borehole H may extend downwardly not to be straight but bent. Thus,
when the pumping pipe P is guided along the borehole H downwardly,

the pumping pipe P may hit the rock or may contact the rock. Of
course, the underground water pump M may hit the rock or may
contact the rock. Therefore, when the underground water pump works
and vibrates, the underground water pump may have damage. As a
result, there occurs reduced life span and increase in maintenance
and repair costs and replacement problems. Further, since each pump
pipe has a 6M unit length and multiple pipes are connected via
connections to each other, the electrical wire and wire rope
(hereinafter, referred to as 'underwater electrical wire' collectively) for
the motor pump may be twisted or tangled. This may lead to a
breakage, short circuit, or electric shock risk thereof.
[0004] To overcome this problem, the present applicant discloses
Korean patent number 10-1053710 (2011.07.27.) titled as "packing
for underground water pump" or 10-1243231 (2013.03.07.) titled as
"coupling member for pumping pipe assembly". In those document,
the packing or coupling member may act as a pipe guidance along the
borehole during the installation thereof. Thus, the pipe assembly and
underground water pump may be safely installed.
[0005] However, in the above documents, during inserting the
pumping pipes or drawing into or from the borehole, the packing may

hit the rock or walls. Further, since the underground water pump
vibrates and the underwater electrical wire is not fixed, the packing
may be released or may be damaged. Further, After the coupling
member is formed using a mold, a receiving groove to receive the
underwater electrical wire may be formed therein. This may require a
further cut-away process. This may lead to a deterioration of the
production rate and increase in a cost thereof.

SUMMARY
[0011] The present disclosure provides an underground water pumping
pipe assembly for an underground water motor pump which may be
safely installed into a borehole in the ground via a guidance of a
packing and coupling member which, at the same time, may be firmly

secured to improve durability thereof.
[0012] Further, the present disclosure provides an underground water
pumping pipe assembly for an underground water motor pump with
the coupling member which may be massively produced using a mole
to improve a production rate and lower the cost thereof.
[0013] In one aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided an
underground water pumping pipe assembly, comprising: a first pipe
coupled to an underground water motor pump; second to n-th pipes
wherein the second pipe is coupled to the first pipe, wherein the first
to n-th pipes are coupled to each other in series; a packing configured
to wrap the first pipe, wherein the packing includes first securing
portions at a top and bottom thereof, an extension extending between
the first securing portions, and vertically elongate cut-away portions
formed in the extension; clamping bands, each band coupled to each
first securing portion to fix the packing to the first pipe; and first
coupling members to receive therein the first pipe and be coupled to
the top and bottom of the packing respectively, wherein each first
coupling member has a first member body and first and second guides
formed on the body to be vertically and alternately arranged with
each other to define spaces therebetween, wherein an electrical wire

and a wire rope for the motor pump extend through the spaces
respectively.
[0014] In one implementation, one of the first and second guides has
a protrusion formed thereon, wherein each first coupling member is
secured to each clamping band with the protrusion being fitted with
the clamping band.

extensions vertically arranged to be spaced from each other, wherein
the packing has a second securing portion between adjacent
extensions.
[0016] In one implementation, the assembly further comprises second
coupling members coupled to tops of the first to n-th pipes
respectively, wherein each second coupling member has a second
member body and vertical third and fourth guides formed on the body
to be alternated with each other to define further spaces
therebetween, wherein the electrical wire and the wire rope for the
motor pump extend through the further spaces respectively; and
coupling tubes coupled to bottoms of the first to n-th pipes
respectively, wherein each coupling tube is screw-coupled to each
second coupling member adjacent thereto.

inwardly stepped portion formed at a vertical middle thereof to define
an inner space of each second coupling member into upper and lower
space portions, wherein the upper space portion receives a
corresponding pipe and the lower space portion receives a
corresponding coupling tube via a screw coupling.

may mainly include the packing 10, clamping band 20, first coupling

member 30 and second coupling member 30a, and coupling tube 40.
The pumping pipe series P may include the first pipe P1 coupled to the
underground water pump M, and the second to n-th pipes P2, P3,...,
and Pn. The pumping pipe series P may be connected to each other in
series using the second coupling member 30a and coupling tube 40.
The n-th pipe Pn may have a top exposed above the ground. The n-th
pipe Pn may be coupled to various meters and valves. The
underground water pump M may pump the water using an
underground motor and turbine via the pumping pipe series P to the
ground.
[0034] The packings 10 may be selectively coupled to the pumping
pipe series P inserted in the borehole H, that is, the first pipe P1 and
second to third, ..., n-th pipes P2, P3,..., Pn to absorb the external
shock to prevent the pipes from the damage. Thus, the underground
water pump M coupled to a bottom of the first pipe P1 may be stably
operated. In this connection, the packing 10 may safely guide the
pumping pipe series P along the borehole H and may elastically
contact the side walls of the borehole. Thus, the packing 10 may act
as a shock buffer.

Each packing 10 may be divided into upper and lower portions. Each
packing 10 may have the first securing portions 14 at a top and
bottom thereof. Each first securing portion 14 may be clamped using
each clamping band 20. Between the first securing portions 14, the
extension 12 may extend with a convex edge 13 to define a shock
buffering space between the pipe and the wall of the borehole. The
extension 12 may have a tapered shape as shown in FIG. 3. The
extension 12 may be plural. In this connection, the plural extensions
may be spaced from each other. Each extension may have the convex
edge 13 at a vertical middle thereof.
[0036] In one embodiment, the plurality of extensions 12 may be
spaced from each other. Between the extensions 12, a short second
securing portion 15 may be formed to be secured to the clamping
band 20. In one example as shown in FIG. 3, each packing 10 may
have a pair of upper and lower extensions 12 and the second securing
portion 15 disposed therebetween to be wrapped with and be secured
to the clamping band 20 to be firmly fixed to the first pipe P1.
[0037] The clamping band 20 may firmly wrap each of the first and
second securing portion 14,15 and thus secure each of the first and
second securing portion 14,15 to the first pipe P1. The clamping band

20 may include a tie clamp, or cable clamp or band clamp, etc.
[0038] The packing 10 may have vertically elongate cut-away portions
16, 18 formed on the extension and/or securing portion. The vertically
elongate cut-away portions may act . to shorten or enlarge the
diameter of the packing 10 in an elastic manner. The vertically
elongate cut-away portions may act to smoothen the water flow. The
vertically elongate cut-away portions may allow the electrical wire or
cable to extend therethrough to facilitate the installation and suppress
the damage thereof.
[0039] The packing 10 may be made of a natural rubber, a synthetic
rubber, a synthetic resin, a urethane, etc. with a good shock-
absorption and elasticity.
[0040] While the first coupling member 30 receives therein the first
pipe P1, the first coupling member 30 may pressure-contact the
securing portion of the packing to suppress the clamping band from
the release. For this, the first coupling member 30 may be secured to
the first pipe, for example, via a welding.
[0041] The first coupling member 30 may have a body and vertical
first guide 32 and second guide 34 formed in the body. The vertical
first guide 32 and second guide 34 may prevent the body from being

damaged against the rock. The vertical first guide 32 and second
guide 34 may act to suppress the deviation of the electrical wire and
the wire rope for the motor from the pipe assembly. For this, the first
guide 32 and second guide 34 may be vertically and spacedly
arranged and may be alternated with each other in a circumferential
direction. Between the first guide 32 and second guide 34, first spaces
35 may be defined, through which the electrical wire E and the wire
rope W may extend. Thus, the electrical wire E and the wire rope W
extend between a plurality of the first guides 32 and second guides 34
and thus be wound around the first coupling member 30. Thus, the
electrical wire E and the wire rope W may be prevented from the
detachment from the pipe assembly. In this connection, the alteration
of the first and second guides of the first coupling member 30 may
allow the massive production of the first coupling member 30 using a
mold. Thus, a separate cut-away process may be not necessary,
thereby to improve the production rate thereof. In one example, the
number of the first and second guides 32,34 may be 4 to 8 per a
single first coupling member 30. This may vary depending on the
diameter of the pipe. In one example, the number of the first and
second guides 32,34 may be 6 per a single first coupling member 30.

[0042] For the first coupling member 30, at least one of the first guide
32 and second guide 34 may have a protrusion 33 formed thereon.
Thus, the protrusion 33 may be fitted with the clamping band 20, and,
thus, the first coupling member 30 may be secured to the band. This
may prevent the first coupling member 30 from the displacement or
deviation or release due to the external shock.
[0043] Further, in the present disclosure, the second coupling
members 30a may be coupled to tops of the first to n-th pipes P1, ...,
and Pn respectively, wherein each second coupling member 30a has a
second member body and vertical third and fourth guides 32,34
formed on the body to be alternated with each other to define further
spaces 35 therebetween, wherein the electrical wire E and wire rope
W for the motor pump M extend through the further spaces 35
respectively. The coupling tubes 40 may be coupled to bottoms of the
first to n-th pipes P1...Pn respectively, wherein each coupling tube 40
is screw-coupled to each second coupling member 30a adjacent
thereto. Specifically, the second coupling member 30a may have a
body and vertical third guide 32 and fourth guide 34 formed in the
body. The vertical fourth guide 32 and fourth guide 34 may prevent
the body from being damaged against the rock. The vertical third

guide 32 and fourth guide 34 may act to suppress the deviation of the
electrical wire and the wire rope for the motor from the pipe assembly.
For this, the third guide 32 and fourth guide 34 may be vertically and
spacedly arranged and may be alternated with each other in a
circumferential direction. Between the third guide 32 and fourth guide
34, the second spaces 35 may be defined, through which the electrical
wire E and the wire rope W may extend. Thus, the electrical wire E
and the wire rope W extend between a plurality of the third guides 32
and fourth guides 34 and thus be wound around the second coupling
member 30a. Thus, the electrical wire E and the wire rope W may be
prevented from the detachment from the pipe assembly. In this
connection, the alteration of the third and fourth guides of the second
coupling member 30a may allow the massive production of the second
coupling member 30a using a mold. Thus, a separate cut-away
process may be not necessary, thereby to improve the production rate
thereof. The guides may have a round shape to allow a smooth
guidance of the pipe assembly Pin and along the borehole H.
[0044] In one
embodiment, each second coupling member 30a has an
inwardly stepped portion 36 formed at a vertical middle thereof to
define an inner space of each second coupling member into upper and

lower space portions, wherein the upper space portion receives a
corresponding pipe P1, P2,..., or Pn and the lower space portion
receives a corresponding coupling tube 40 via a screw coupling 37.
This may allow an easy assembly of the pipes series in a field site. In
one embodiment, the lower space portion receives a corresponding
pipe P1, P2,..., or Pn and the upper space portion receives a
corresponding coupling tube 40 via a screw coupling 37. For this, the
coupling tube 40 may have threads 42. When the upper space portion
receives a corresponding coupling tube 40 via a screw coupling 37,
the coupling tube 40 may have lower threads 42 as shown in FIG. 3.
In this connection, the second coupling member 30a may receive the
corresponding pipe P1, P2,..., or Pn and then the member 30 and
corresponding pipe may be fixed to each other, for example, via a
welding or screw.
[0045] Further, the
first pipe P1 may be coupled to a further coupling
tube 40 via a bottom thereof and then to the underground water
pump M. That is, the top 1 of the underground water pump M may be
coupled to the bottom of the tube 40 via a screw coupling. The first
pipe P1 with being fitted with the packing and first coupling member
may be coupled to the second pipe P2 via a further coupling tube 40

via a screw coupling.
[0046] In this way, the underground water pumping pipe assembly
100 may smoothly slide along and on the inner wall of the borehole H
and thus the pumping pipe series P may not be damaged. As the

motor pump in a reliable manner or without the twist or tangle
thereof. In this way, the underground water pump may have a long
life span and the borehole may be prevented from blocking.
