Abstract of the Disclosure
Noise reduced sanitary water fitting in form of a
concealed combined mixer for bath filliny and/or shower, with a
shut-off and mixing valve, from which the water flows through a
channel to a change-speed-mechanism, which shows outlets (outlet
orifices) which can be closed by a sealing element in connection
with a switch, and over which the water is either directed
towards the bath or the shower outflow of the fitting, whereby
the outlet (orifice), which interacts with the shower outflow
of the fitting, of the change-speed mechanism opens out into a
water chamber, which is wholly or partly penetrated by a pipe
body, fixed to a shower outflow. The invention guarantees noise
reduction with simple yet maintenance-free means.

THE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION IN WHICH AN EXCLUSIVE
PROPERTY OR PRIVILEGE IS CLAIMED ARE DEFINED AS FOLLOWS:

1. In a noise damped sanitary water fitting in the
form of a concealed, bath-filling and shower valve unit,
with a shut-off and mixing valve, from which the water flows
through a duct to a deflecting device which has an outlet
aperture that can be closed by a sealing element connected
to a control, and via which the water is conveyed either to
a bath outlet or a shower outlet of the fitting, a water
chamber is formed between and is in fluid communication
with said outlet aperture of the deflecting device and
said shower outlet of the fitting, and a noise dampening
means in the form of a pipe body is coupled to the shower
outlet and extends into said water chamber adjacent to a
side wall thereof opposite the shower outlet.

Description

-- 1 ,

The invention relates to a noise-damped sanitary water
Eitting in the form of a concealed bath-filling and shower
valve unit, with a shut-off and mixing valve, from which
the water flows through a duct to a deflecting device which
has outlet apertures which can be closed by a sealing element
connected to a control and via which the water is conveyed
eithe~ to the bath or the shower outlet of the fitting.

Fittings of this type are somewhat sensitive to noise on the
shower-outlet side. It is already known to damp noises by
lagging with insulating material a water chamber passing
into the shower-outlet of the fitting or by sieves fitted
in the chamber. The bottom of the water chamber is soldered
after the insulating materials or the sieves have been fitted.
The insulating material can be harmed by the soldering
process. If sieves are inserted to damp the sound, there is
the danger that in time they become clogged up. Because of
the firmly closed water chamber, subsequent cleaning of the
sieves can hardly be carried out in practice. Besides this
would also be very complicated and time-consuming.

The aim of the invention is to remove these disadvantages by
another construction of a noise-damped sanitary water fitting
of the tvpe specified, with which the desired noise-damping
is achieved by simple and, moreover, maintenance~free means.

In accordance with the present invention there is provided
in a noise-damped sanitary water fitting in the form of a
concealed, bath-filling and shower valve unit, with a shut-
off and mixing valve, from which the water flows through a
duct to a deflecting device which has an outlet aperture
that can be closed by a sealing element connected to a
control, and via which the water is conveyed either to a
bath outlet or a shower outlet of the fitting, a water
chamber is formed between and is in fluid communication
.
with said outlet aperture of the deflecting device, and
said shower outlet of the fitting, and a noise dampening
means in the form of a pipe bod~ is coupled to the shower

outlet and extends into said water chamber adjacent to a
side wall thereof opposite the shower ou-tlet.

The advantages obtained with the invention are based mainly
on the fact that perfect noise-damping is permanently
guaranteed, and when closing the water chamber no damage
occurs to the pipe body. The object of the invention causes
no difficulties in production~ The cost is relatively low.

The invention is now explained as follows by means of an
embodiment referring to the attached drawing. The water
fitting 1, shown in the drawing and in section, in the form
of a concealed, bath-filling and shower valve unit, has a
shut-off and mixing valve 2, from which the cold, warm or
mi~ed water enters in the direction of the arrow through a
duct 3 and via an aperture ~ into a water chamber 5 of a
deflecting device.

In the water chamber S there are outlet apertures 6a and 6b
constructed as valve seats which can be closed by a sealing
element 7.

.

~LZ~i6%~

The outlet aperture 6b leads to a chamber 12. From this the
water passes via a duct 13 to a bath outlet 14 of the fitting.
When, by overcomlng the pressure of a pressure spring 15 and
the water pressure, the control 10 is brought into the "shower
outlet open" position, then, because of the water pressure
operating under the sealing element 7, the control 10 is held in
this position until the fitting is closed again.

The control 10 or its sealing element 7 then automatically
return to the "bath outlet open" position under the effect of
the pressure spring 15.

If the control 10 is in the "shower outlet open" position then
the water flows via the outlet aperture 6a into a chamber 16.
The chamber 16 is provided with an aperture 17 and is connected
to an outlet duct 18.

The duct 18 leads to a shower outlet 19 of the fitting.

As can be seen the water chamber 16 is provided with a bottom
25. The bottom 25 is soldered.

It can also be seen that in the outlet duct 18 a pipe body 21
is held which almost completely penetrates the water chamber 16
and does not affect the depth of the fitting. The pipe body 21
projects with its one front end 22 into the immediate vicinity
of a wall side 23 of the water chamber 16 and with the other
front end 24 into the shower outlet 19 of the fitting.

6~

As already stated, the embodiment represented and described
is only an example for implemen~ing the invention, and is not
restricted to this; rather are there still further possibilities
within the scope of the basic idea of the invention with regard
to thearran~ement and construction of the pipe body. Of course
the bottom 25 of the water chamber 16 could also be screwed
but this is not desirable because of the higher costs.
