PYRAMID SHAPED FOLDING BOX
This invention relates to collapsible pyramid
structures and blanks from which the same can be
made, and more particularly, to such structures
that can be printed, artistically decorated or
otherwise embellished.
The principal object of this invention is to
provide collapsible structures of pyramid
configuration that can be readily caused to assume
their intended solid geometric appearance and which
can, with equal facility be collapsed to a flat
form.
A more specific object is to provide a
collapsible pyramid structure with three sides and
a base which can be adapted and readily converted
from a flat one dimensional condition to one
simulating a geometric solid three dimensional
structure and which can be collapsed whenever
desired.
Another object is to provide a collapsible
pyramid structure that can be made from a suitably
cut blank of material such as paper or cardboard
and printed or decorated in any manor to serve a
desired decorative purpose.
Another object is to provide a collapsible
pyramid structure which can be mailed or shipped
in a collapsed or flat condition and easily
converted into a self sustaining solid appearing
geometric structure.

Another object is to provide a collapsiblepyramid structure with three triangular shaped
sides held in erected position by tab-tongue
extensions.

taken in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings:
In order to provide secure support to enable
the pyramid to stand erect, 3 (three) panels B, C
and D are folded along fold lines X, Y and Z, and
with the aforementioned tongues penetrating the tab
recepticals, are locked into firm place.
FIGURE I is a view of a stamped blank or a
cutout that can be folded to form a collapsible and
expandable three sided pyramid structure.
FIGURE 2 is a top view of a pyramid formed
from the blank shown in figure 1.
FIGURE 3 is a reverse side view shown of the
pyramid shown in figure 2
FIGURE 4 is a view of the bottom of the
pyramid shown in figure 2. - ;

Referring now to the embodiment in fig. 1-4 in
the drawings, fig. I illustrates a cut or stamped
blank that is adapted to be folded to form a
pyramid. The blank may be made of a lightweight : - I
cardboard or other sheet material and comprises a :--
triangu1ar base (A) and three triangular side
panels, B,C and D, all of which are the same size `~ -
and joined along fold lines X,Y and Z. - -

Panel B carries two (2) flapst 12 (tongue) and
13 (tab-receptacle) and join to panel B alon8 fold
lines 20 and 21. Panel D carries a flap 14 (tab-
receptacle) and is joined to panel D along fold
line 22.
Panel C carries flap 15 (tongue) and is
joined to panel C along fold line 23.
Flaps 13 and 14 have receptacals located along
fold lines 21 and 22 respectively. These
receptacals enable flap ( tongue) 12 to penetrate
the receptacle along fold line 22 and permits flap
(tongue)15 to penetrate the receptacle along fold
lîne 21.
In order to convert the pyranid from its erect
and expanded condition to a collapsed condition it
is only ~necessary to exert modest force on the side
panels and tabs. The panels become dislocated and
assume a natural co11apsed condition.
