ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE
The set contains three rods which are provided
with a point at one end and each of which is composed
of three part rods which are screwed to one another.
A crank handle can be screwed onto one of the rods
while the other two rods have, at the end opposite to
the point, a hook or an eye into which the third rod
can be inserted to enable it to be used as a grilling
spit.

Set for use on a campinq fire
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENT:tON
Grills or spits are used for grilling on a
camping fire. The disadvantage of these known aids is
that they require a relati~ely large amount of space
for transportation, since they are bulky objects.
Another disadvantage is that neither a known grilling
spit nor a known grill can be used for something else.
SUMMARY OF ~HE INVENTION
It is an object of the invent;on to provide a
set intended for use on a camping fire and no longer
having all these disadvantages. This object is
achieved by a set which consists of at least the
following parts:
- a crank handle,
- three rods which are provided with a point at one
~ end and are of essentially the same length and same
j thickness d, each one of which is capable of being
divided into at least three part rods of essentially
equal length,
- two rods being provided, at the end which is
opposite to the point, with a hook or an eye for
insertion of the third rod and
- the crank handle and that end of the third rod which
is opposite to the point being designed in such a
way that they can be connected to one another firmly
but detachably,
- a ring whose internal diameter is not significantly
greater than 2.15 d, so that the three rods can be
inserted together into the ring with little play,
l and
j - a chain provided with a hook at at least one end.

Figure 1 shows a first possibility for its use,
Figure 2 shows, on a smaller scale, a further
possibility for its use,
Figure 3 shows, on a larger scale, the detail denoted
by III in Fig. 1 and
Fig. 4 shows a fur~her embodiment of the grill set
according to the invention, in the position for use.
DESCRIPTTON FOR THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
The set includes three rods 1, 2 and 3 which
are of essentially the same length and each of which is
provided with a point at one end. In the method of use
shown in Fig. 1, the two rods 1 and 2 are inserted into
the ground. The point of the third rod is denoted by
35.
I 15 Each of the three rods is formed by screwing
together three part rods, i.e. rod 1 is formed from
part rods 11, 12 and 13, rod 2 from p~rt rods 21, 22
and 23 and rod 3 from part rods 31, 32 and 33. Fig. 3
shows how the part rods 12 and 13 are connected to one
another. The part rod 12 has, at one end, a threaded
pin 12a which is screwed into the threaded hole 13a of
part rod 13. In th~ present embodiment, all part rods
forming a rod are connected to one another in this way,
1 the middle part rod expediently having an internal
i 25 thread on one side and an external thread on the other
side. The ends of the other part rods are then
correspondingly formed. Rod 1 has a hook 14 at its end
opposite to the point, and rod 2 has an eye 24. The
hook 14 and the eye 24 enable the third rod 3 to be
mounted so that it is freely rotatable. A crank 4,
having a crank grip 41 rotatably mounted on it and a
hand grip 42 likewise rotatably mounted, is screwed
onto this third rod 3, at the opposite end to th,e point
35. The rod 3 now serves as a grilling spit, i.e. for
passing through the food intended for grilling. Of
course, the meat brackets 7 and 8 known per se for
grilling spits can be pushed onto it and locked by

means of their screws 71 and 81, respectively. Each
of these meat clamps 7 and 8 has a sleeve 73 or 83,
respectively, which is provided with a clamping screw ;~
71 or 81, respectively, and on ~hich a U-shaped meat
needle 72 or 82, respectively, is fastened.
~` For transport, the crank hamdle 4 is first
unscrewed from the grilling spit 3, after which each of ~ ~
~ the three rods is separated into its three part rods, ; -
J~ with the r~sult that the entire equipment can be housed
`! 10 in a minimum transport space available everywhere.
Figure 2 shows a further use of the set
~- according to the invention: the three rods 1, 2 and 3,
3 all of which have the same diameter d, are held
j together here by a ring 10 whose internal diameter D is
3 15 not significantly greater than 2.15 d, so that the
i three rods can be inserted together into the ring 10
with only little play. If the three rods are then
~ spread apart, as shown in Figure 2, the result is a -
i stable tripod, which is used for hanging a pot over a -
fire by means of a chain 9 provided with a hook 91. In
contrast to known tripods, it is also possible here to
house the entire equipment in a very small space, -~
because the rods can be taken apart.
Figure 4 shows a further embodiment of the se~
accordin~ to the invention, for use on a camping fire~
:~ it additionally has two grill halves 5 and 6. Here,
i! each of these halves consists of eight grill rods 51 or
61, respectively, which are connected rigidly to one
another by two end rods 52 and 62, respectively. These
two end rods each have a free end 52a or 62a,
respectively, which can be inserted in~o a hole in the -
sleeve 73 or 83, respectively, as shown in the drawing.
However, since this does not permit the stability
required for a grill, individual grill rods 51 and 61
are curved around the rods 53 and 63 in such a way that
at least two of the part rods, i.e. part rods 13 and 23 ~i
~j in this case, can be inserted into the grill so that

they are parallel to its plane but at right angles to :
3the grill rods 51 and 61. This makes it possible to -~::
`~achieve a rigidity which is completely suffici~nt for
grilling on the grill. Since these additional grill
S halves also need not have large dimensions, the set
produ~ed by means of these halves can still be housed - -~
in a very small space.
