According to the invention a toilet comprising a seat area (1) and bowl is
designed in such a way that the seat area (1) has an extension (5) which makes
it possible to sit on said extension (5) facing towards the bowl. In this way,
especially male users of the toilet are able to sit on the extension (5)
during urination. This prevents unnecessary dirtying of the toilet.

claims:
1. Toilet with a seat area (2) and a toilet bowl (3), whereby the seat area
shows a ring-shaped
circularly seat (2) with an outer edge and an interior edge and an extension
(5,5'), which
makes it possible for the user to sit to the toilet bowl (3,3') directed on
the extension
(5,5'), characterized by the fact that the extension has a length between
interior edge and
outer edge, which is longer than the distance between outer edge and interior
edge in the
remaining seat area and that the seat area reduces itself at first in its
width to the extension
(5,5').
2. Toilet according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the extension
(5,5') is a part of
a toilet seat (2).
3. Toilet according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the extension
(5,5') is the top
edge of a toilet bowl (3').
4. Toilet according to one of the preliminary claims, characterized by the
fact that the
extension (5,5') is padded.
5. Toilet according to one of the preliminary claims, characterized by the
fact that the
extension (5,5') is hinged arranged at the seat area.
6. Toilet according to one of the preliminary claims, characterized by the
fact that the seat

This invention refers to toilets with a seat and pan.
Th~re are many types of toilet design depending on the cultural region in
question.
The following invention refers to a toilet with a seat upon which the user can
sit, end
also a toilet pare or similar structure to~ collect the feces. This is the
most common
type of toilet used in Europe and Is well-known.
However, .it also well-known that these toilets, especially In private
households, are
also used to urinate In. Since most'men urinate standing up, It is elmast
impossible
2 o to keep the area around the toilet, and In particular the toilet seat,
free from urine
splashes.
The purpose of this invention is therofor~e to improve the form of the common
toilet so
that a man may urinate without soiling the seat or the surrounding apes.
This has been achieved by extending the seat which enables the user to sit
facing
the toilet pan.
This toilet seat extension makes it possible for men to Bit down facing the

This very simple afteratlon to the common toilet seat enables men to urinate
into the
toilet pen without having to pull th~ir trousers right down. llVhen a men sits
on this
extension piece the distance to the toilet pen is reduced Increasing the
accuracy of
his aim. This also reduces the amount of urine which splashes around the
toilet pan.
Thus this invention is the answer to an age-old problem, which housewives and
cleaning staff In particular aro aware of.
The WC seat also has a llarther use: it makes an ideal child's toilet seat.
The
extension piece can either be used as a child's se~t or as a handle when
sitting In
._,,, the normal position on the toilet. Precisely this use as a handle
makes.the toilet seat
ideal for disabled people, since it provides additional security when sitting
on the
toilet.
The possibility of sitting beck-to-front on the toilet facing the pan also
makes it easier
for wheelchair users to get onto tile toilet seat and, especially, sliding
back into their
chair.
Initial tests have shown that sitting back-to-front on the toilet makes it
easier to fully .

It is also beneficial if the extension piece slants slightly upwards away from
the toilet
pan. This angle, offers a partk:ulariy good sitting position on the extension
piece and
makes it easier to hold onto the extension place when sitting on the toilet in
the
conventional manner.
A padded extension piece offers particular comfort. Such padding can be made
from
an easy to clean materiel making it hygienic.
When attaching the extension piece to the tallet it Gs particularly
advantageous if (t is
hinged. The extension piece can be folded away to make it possible to sit on
the
toilet in the conventional wwy. The extension piece can be easily brought out
to show
men to urinate whilst sitting down. However, it must b~ emphasized that an
extension piece which cannot be folded away also enables men to sit down on
the
toilet In the usual fashion. For this reason the extension piece has been made
wide
enough so that it does not cause problems when sitting on the toilet in the
normal
way: it is positioned between the user's legs.

by means

"'J positioned on top of the upper edge of toilet pan 3'. However, toilet seat

canv~entional design and the extension piece 5' forms part of the toilet pan
itsetf. The
toilet seat 2' is connected to toilet pan 3' by means of a hinge 4'. The
extension piece
5' is attached to the toilet pan on the opposite side to the hinge. Extension
piece 5'
enlarges the upper edge of toilet pan 3' end it is possible to sit on the
extension
piece with the toilet seat between the uses legs, In this example the
extension 5' of
toilet pan 3' has a padding 6' which provides more comfort when sitting on the
extension piece.
When using the toil~ts fltted with this invention the man In particular has to

toilet seat shown in Figure 1 has to be unfolded to be able to use the
extension place
as a seat, the toilet seat shown in Figure 2 cyan either be unfolded or left
up.
To make the retrofitted toilets particularly comfortable to use, the edges of
the seat
(7, 8 or T, 8') have a concave form either side of the extension piece. When
extension place 5 is not bein~ used es a seat it can be folded down by means
of
hinge 9.
The toilet Illustrated In Figure 3 shows toilet seat area 2' with an egg-
shaped toilet
seat. This egg shape is not only attractive, but also extremely robust. This
design
also proves that a small extension piece 5' 1s sufRcient to serve the purpose
intended
by this invention.
In Figure 4 the extension piece 5' is at a slight angle to the toilet pan.
There is an
angle of about 150 to 160° between the level toil~t seat arse and the
extension piece
