The embodiment of the invention in which an exclusive property or
privilege is claimed are defined as follows:

1. A hand exerciser comprising:
a hollow sphere composed of two halves and four openings defined
through the two halves;
a frame fixedly received in the sphere and connected to the two halves, two
handle disks rotatably connected to two opposite ends of the frame, two
massage
disks rotatably connected to the other two opposite ends of the frame, the two
handle
disks and the two massage disks rotatably engaged with the four openings of
the
sphere, and
a weight fixed to one of the two halves.

2. The hand exerciser as claimed in claim 1, wherein the handle disks each
include a concave surface and a space is defined between the concave surface
and a
handle connected to the handle disk.

3. The hand exerciser as claimed in claim 1, wherein the massage disks
each include a convex surface and a plurality of bosses extending from the
convex
surface.

4. The hand exerciser as claimed in claim 1, wherein one of the two halves

The present invention relates to a hand exerciser that has a hollow sphere
in which a weight is eccentrically connected. The sphere includes two handle
disks
and massage disks for hands to hold.
Conventional exercising devices are bulky and heavy, and include
complicated structure which usually means a high cost. People usually cannot
afford
to buy different types of exercising devices and besides., there is no space
for storage
of these exercising devices. For those people work in offices, it is important
to
exercise their hand muscles because of operating computers for a long period
of time.
Unfortunately, in the present market, no proper exercising device is provided
for the
exercise of hands.
The present invention intends to provide a hand exerciser that is in a shape
of sphere and can be rotatably held by hand. A weight is eccentrieally
installed in the
sphere so that when rotating the sphere the muscles of hands can be exercised.
In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a
hand exerciser which comprises a hollow sphere composed of two halves each of
which has four openings. A frame is fixedly received in the sphere and
connected to
the two halves. Two handle disks and two massage disks are respectively and
rotatably connected to four ends of the frame, and are: rotatably engaged with
the
four openings of the sphere. A weight is fixed to one of the t~Jo halves.
The present invention will become more obvious from the following
description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.

Fig. 1 is an exploded view to show the hand exerciser of the present
invention;
Fig. 2 is a perspective view to show the hand exerciser of the present
invention;
Fig. 3 shows two hands holding the handle disks of the hand exerciser of
the present invention;
Fig. 4 shows two palms pressing on the concave surfaces of the handle
disks of the hand exerciser of th.e present invention;
Fig. 5 shows two hands pressing the massage disks of the hand exerciser of
the present invention, and
Fig. 6 is a cross sectional view to show the a~and exerciser of the present
invention.
Referring to Figs. 1, 2 and 6, the hand exerciser of the present invention
comprises a hollow sphere 10 which is composed of two halves 11, 12 and four
openings 111, 121 are defined through an edge of the two halves 11, 12. Each
of the
halves 11, 12 has four connection tubes 112, 122 extending from an inner
periphery
thereof so that bolts 123 extend through the half 12, the connection tubes
122, and
112, and are engaged with nuts 113 which is received in holes 110 defined
through
the half 11.
A frame 20 is fixedly received in the sphere 10 by the bolts 123 which
extend through four corners of the frame 20 when connecting the two halves 11,
12.
The frame 20 includes two pairs of opposite ends which are threaded ends 21.

Further referring to Fig. 4, two handle disks 50 each have a concave surface
501 and
a hole 503 is defined through the concave surface 501. Each of the threaded
ends 21
of the frame 20 is mounted with two bearings 22 and extends through the hole
503
and engaged with a nut 504. A cap 505 is then mounted to the distal end of the
each
of the threaded ends 21 to cover the threaded ends 21. .~ handle 502 is
connected to
the handle disk 50 so as to define a space between the concave surface 501 and
the
handle 502. The two handle disks 50 are rotatable relative to the frame 20 and
the
sphere 10.
Two massage disks 40 are rotatably connected to the other two opposite
threaded ends 21 of the frame 20. Two bearings 22 are mounted to each of the
two
threaded ends 21 which extend through a hole 402 in each of the massage disks
40
and is engaged with a nut 403. A cap 404 is then mounted to the distal end of
the
each of the threaded ends 21 to cover the threaded ends 21. The massage disks
40
each include a convex surface 401 and a plurality of bosses 405 extend from
the
convex surface 401. The two massage disks 40 are then rotatable relative to
the
frame 20 and the sphere 10. The two handle disks 50 and the two massage disks
40
are rotatably engaged with the four openings 111, 112 of the sphere 10.
As shown in Fig. 3, the half 12 includes two tubes 123 extending from an
inner periphery thereof and a weight 60 is fixed to the. two tubes 123 by
bolts. The
weight 60 makes the sphere 10 be easily rotated when rotating the sphere 10.
Referring to Figs. 3 and 4, the hands of the user may hold the handles 502
to rotate in opposite direction to exercise the waists. The palms may also to
compress on the concave surfaces 501 to rotate the handle disks 50. Referring
to Fig.

CA 02434909 2003-07-10
5, the two hands may also compress on the massage disks 40 to rotate the
massage
disks 40 in opposite directions.
